how many dog lover fans did the NFL lose when vick's suspension went from 6 to 2 games.

or even by letting him back in the league

uh he went to jail...and was out of the league for about 3 years. Not exactly the same thing. Apples and Oranges...

But keep on chiming...I will again refer to my point...you ain't going anywhere.

Are you going to boycott the league?

      Exactly....

I will be at game 4 even if we lose the first three (as would any other true Steeler fan who had such an opportunity...seriously, who'd miss a Steeler-Raven battle regardless of record?). Because of our season ticket base, these games are guaranteed to be sold out well in advance. The only money they could potentially lose would be concessions and parking for any no-shows that have already paid for their ticket, but I'd imagine that even the fairweather loser who have tickets but don't want to go if we are 0-3 would sell their tix to someone else who would go.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Agreed. Vick plead guilty, served his time.

Ben was not even charged, and he's sitting 4 weeks when ex-Con Vick sat for two when he got out.

            Lenny,

again you take snippets and try to make it the crux of an arguement. We can't assess how long Vick would've been suspended without the incarceration.

You act as though he only got 2 games. Uh dude he got 3 years + 2 games. You know what--he ain't making the type of cash he was prior to the dog incident. So in some ways he is langering as a backup making a whole lot less.

Tell you what add up Ben's 4 games...to the money Vick lost on his original contract alone...that's what Vick lost.

But that won't support your arguement. All you want to do is rant about how evil Goodell is and how it's some great injustice.

Hell even if somehow the Steelers were to go 4-0 you would gripe at the fact at how they had to win...and that if Goodell wouldn't have held Ben out we would've dominated.

Darfur is an injustice...this is a minor annoyance.

              Details from Roethlisberger's meeting
              By Sal Paolantonio

NEW YORK -- Here's what happened at Friday’s Ben Roethlisberger-Roger Goodell meeting:

After a brief session with lawyers for both sides and team president Art Rooney, the commissioner and Roethlisberger met privately. In that one-on-one meeting, Roethlisberger was contrite, according to a source with knowledge of the meeting. Then Goodell informed Roethlisberger that the suspension would be reduced to four games -- but that Roethlisberger must continue to avoid any further violations of the personal conduct policy.

What's next for Big Ben? This weekend, he's going to re-group with close friends and former Steelers running back and current ESPN analyst Merrill Hoge, who has become his mentor. "We're going to talk about how to stay mentally sharp during the suspension," Hoge said. "He's going to work out with high school football players in Pittsburgh, coach my little guys in youth football here in northern Kentucky. He is going to use his services to help others, and make sure he's ready to come back better than ever."

So what? He was in jail. Plax wasn't suspended by the league, he's in jail too.

Jail isn't an NFL suspension, it's jail.

                  NFL STATEMENT

Commissioner Goodell met with Ben Roethlisberger today and notified him that his suspension has been reduced to the Steelers’ first four regular-season games. The reinstatement is contingent on Roethlisberger continuing to adhere to the program established by our advisors and avoiding any further violations of the Personal Conduct Policy. During the suspension, Roethlisberger cannot be at the team’s practice facility, attend games, represent the club publicly in any way, have contact with any member of the coaching staff or other football operations personnel, or engage in any team football-related activities or discussions with teammates away from team facilities. “You have told me and the Steelers that you are committed to making better decisions,” Commissioner Goodell said in a letter to Roethlisberger. “Your actions over the past several months have been consistent with that promise and you must continue to honor that commitment.”

Statement from Steelers’ President Art Rooney II on Ben Roethlisberger

“Commissioner Goodell informed us today that Ben Roethlisberger’s suspension has been reduced to four games. Ben has done a good job this summer of growing as the person that he needs to be, both on and off the field. I am confident that Ben is committed to continuing in this positive direction. As a team, our focus is now on preparing for the regular season and getting off to a good start on opening weekend.”

                  Statement from Ben Roethlisberger

“I have learned a lot over the past several months about myself as a person. I am committed to continuing on this path of being the type of person my family raised me to be, and exceeding what is expected of me as the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers.”
