Ben's Suspension Reduced to Four Games

    Per PFT:
Roger Goodell reduces Ben Roethlisberger's suspension to four games
Posted by Michael David Smith on September 3, 2010 11:11 AM ET
As expected, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has reportedly reduced Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger's suspension to four games.

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network is reporting that Roethlisberger met with Goodell today, and Goodell reduced the suspension.

Roethlisberger was suspended under the league's personal conduct policy after he was accused of sexual assault this offseason. Goodell had previously said Roethlisberger would have his suspension reduced from six to four games if he stayed out of trouble, and more recently Goodell said Roethlisberger had done everything asked of him and more.

it could be worse, it could be 6 games. its still not right but im glad it isnt more than 4 games. 0-2 games would seem appropriate.

Ben's biggest crime is that he's white.

I'm with you frank. It does no good to bellyache about Goodell now, I'm just glad it was reduced to four. Lately, and I guess it's because we were closing in on D-Day, I was getting more and more nervous that he was going to throw a curveball and leave it at 6. I'm glad I was wrong.

Four or six is the same thing. Here's was Goodell's chance to right his wrong. And he wouldn't do it. Why? Ben's white, and Goodell loves the city of Baltimore.

It's not a coincidence that one of the four games Ben is missing is against the Ravens.

uhhh it is? last time i checked 4 is two less than 6. i could be wrong but i am pretty certain that is correct. if its the same thing than why did ben and the team care if it was reduced?

Convicted felon Mike Vick got two.

That's what uncharged Ben should have gotten.

I'm sure he wasn't busy with anything else.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Boy some of you guys are so Steelers-centric you can't see through it. Goodell cares about the Steeler brand but not at the expense of the NFL brand.

The folks who pretend to suggest that he "right the wrong" are clueless.

                            The NFL cares about $$$$

Tell me the wronged few, do you really think that Goodell worries about your patronage. You ain't going anywhere.

But anyone who has kept up with recent events has seen that the NFL has had a marked increase in a target demographic over the past decade.

                            Women.

Yep you got it...women. Goodell isn't doing it because of race...He is doing it because of green.

Now I don't have a crystal ball and say if it goes below 4 weeks they will lose x amount of women...but the NFL will tread very lightly here.

Believe it or not Steeler nation does not rule the NFL...it is an important voice, just not omnipotent.

                            Get over it...it's 4 weeks...start talking X's and O's....

except for Lenny Bruce...who can't seem to discuss anything other than this topic.
