What are you most anxious to see Saturday

[1st and Goal--]

It's Thursday already. Some players or camp battle situations have probably caught your eye. I'm sure there are many but here are a couple or three things I am anxious to see.

Antonio Brown. What can you say. This 6th rounder was dazzling. Is he for real? They say Ben will play some this week. This could be good for both Sanders and Brown. Last week Sanders did not get much action. I look for Ben to find both him and Antonio this week.

Some threads are questioning the backups at safety. Neither Mundy or Allen is tearing the joint up. Maybe one of the Drafted or Undrafted R's can step up and challenge here. I could use some help here since I really don't know what to look for. I was wondering if maybe Crezdon Butler or UDFA Cromartie-Smith who are listed as CB's might take some plays at Safety as well. Or maybe even Keenan Lewis. Whodathunkit. [besides me] that replacing Tyrone Carter would be a huge problem. LOL Reason I mention this is because I really think the secondary is going to be strong this year even with those average backups. Hey, if one of the Rookies steps up all the better.

Okay, one other thing.. Last week I did not notice Urbik. I kept rewinding the tape back to early 2nd half when the Steelers stopped the Lions on 4th down and Charlie Batch was getting ready to go in with a little over 4 minutes to go. Well Urbik was certainly there. Big as a mountain at C and blocking and obscuring over half the Lions in the game. But, he was in there with the likes of Dorian Brooks, Kyle Jolly, Adrian Jones, Eugene Bright, and a couple of other really unknowns.

Evaluating OL is not something I have any clue about. But, I did find this puzzling. He is seemingly not even in the mix for that RG spot. Oh well, maybe that will change this week, because if Pouncey is to take over at C I find it hard to believe Urbik cannot compete with Essex or Foster who don't look earth shaking to me. But, like I said I don't really care much about the OL. I really just want to watch the ball.

Well anyway, these are a couple of things I am going to focus on this week. Who or what are you going to single out to watch for this week.?

I understand that reasoning. And if Brown shows himself to be an outstanding returner, I couldn't fault the Steelers for making that move. But...if Brown proves to be just average as a returner, and Logan is outstanding, and if Logan can be utilized as an offensive weapon, then I would NOT be in favor of cutting Logan just to save a spot for a LB.

Look...we'd gain a roster spot if one of our OL could do long-snapping. We'd gain a roster spot if one of our reserve TE's could be the FB. Cutting your return specialist is not the only way to save a roster spot.

I agree BHD ... so far Brown has gotten some bad reviews as a punt returner. I don't know what Brown adds that Logan doesn't have. Brown will only play ST if he makes the team. He won't get in as a receiver unles their are injuries.

We know Logan is a good returner. We don't know that Brown is. Also, Loagn can play receiver. They are saying he has pretty good hands too.

The guy I want to see more of is another receiver who I think threatens both Sanders and Brown ... that is Grisham. I've been hearing a lot of buzz about the guy. Just not on this forum. I'd love to see him go against some better competition this week than he has in the past. See what he is really made of. Can you say Wes Welker qualities.

Here's what i'm interested in seeing
1) how Pouncey looks at C with the 1st string
2) how many snaps DD gets at QB with the 1st string
3) how the hotel looks against NY's edge rushers, particularly Pierre Paul
4) how well Lewis plays at CB, I'd like to see him push BMac
5) if brown can have as good a second showing as the first.

The things I'm looking for:

1.) Brown at the return game. I'm not a Logan hater by any stretch but if we can save a roster spot, I'm game for that and we can hold onto someone that may not clear waivers.

2.) I want to see how our our O-line does against what should be a top-notch 4-3 D-line in the Giants. It'll be interesting to see how Pouncey does against those guys.

3.) Let's see if one of our young receivers can really step it up and push Antwan Randle-El for the #3 WR.

4.) I'd like to see a lot of rep's for Sunny Harris and Ziggy Hood, get Worilds, Gibson and Sylvester into the game too..

5.) Since I may as well be the starting quarterback for the Giants tonight, I'm afraid we won't see much from our secondary.

6.) That being said I'd like to see if we have any back up safeties worth a darn.

If the starting RT plays as poorly as hotel did last week- ooooppphhhh

Where did that come from? If you think I have some kind of bias against UDFA's then you are way off the mark. I have stated for years that a WR, DB or RB should be able to handle kick off duties so you don't have to use a roster spot for a specialist. Teams have done it for decades.

Has nothing to do with whether a guy was drafted or not.

What is the obsession with getting rid of Logan to gain a roster spot? Is that "extra" roster spot going to have more of an impact than starting on your 35 or 40 yard line a few times a game?

I could see if Logn put up dumptruck type stats but the guy was 2nd in the league in return yard average. He didn't have a TD but he damn sure put us in positions to score and pin teams deep.

I don't see the extra roster spot having an impact.... but if Brown or someone else can put up similar numbers then OK.. but if it's "just to have the extra guy its a very bad wish IMO.

and Grisham? I hope that was a joke. The guy is speed impared and his hands aren't good enough to compensate for the lack of size and speed.

I want to see how Pouncey does as a Center against 1st team D.

I want to see Worthington,Hood and Sony Harris on the D-line. Also add in Gibson,Jason and Sylvester.

Want to see how Mr. Wright does as FB. Also can Redman run dominantly against a 4-3 defense where Steelers struggled last season as per BA.

This is pretty close to my list. I'd like to see Sanders get more involved as well after some of the reviews he had from camp. I'm really interested to see Worilds as well.

Another thing I'll add - I'm looking forward to seeing Ben play a few series.
