I agree with the author for the most part.

If the Rooney's had anything to do with even suggesting that Ben be suspended then shame on them.

But what do you think? Did the Rooney's have any involment with coming up with the punishment? You really think it was 6 games based on these 2 incidents (the first of which has more holes than swiss cheese and a bat sh!t crazy accuser)? I'm trying to come up with why 6 (or even 4 with good behavior) and the only thing that makes sense is this is based on more than these 2 recent situations.
The conspiracy theory image was directed at this part: When Goodell says "he's seeing a pattern" it's because his guys know about dirt (possibly a lot) on Ben, more than these 2 episodes, and other situations and rumors regarding his becoming this 'Big Ben' persona and not being a quality person.

I should have narrowed it down to that. I do agree that the Rooney's were involved but I don't agree that it was for anything beyond the 2 incidents. There are players all over the league who act like jerks at restaurants and whatnot. And for all we know, the rumors about Ben being that way are just that: rumors.
      proof please?

I know it's hard to fathom more incidents that didn't make the news but they may exist. I repeat "may" exist.

It doesn't matter what the other jerks in the league do... Ben is a top 10 NFL player/face of the league. He is held to a higher standard.

Everyone of importance in the organization agree Ben has tarnished the NFL and Steeler brand... I could see if our FO was in denial or fighting the NFL.

However, the FO were furious and made moves to punish Ben and worked with Goodell. Maybe you need to take off YOUR tin foil cap and gown.
