Meh.. once again Cap uses the SB as the barometer for building a team. That is a skewed way of viewing team building. AJ Brown pouts anytime he doesn’t get targets. Even read a book on the sideline throwing shade last year. Eagles still won a SB. Also.. they have a guy on defense who spit on Dak in the first game and drag raced which led to someone dying at Georgia.. and he is the anchor of their D. Antonio Brown was an ass and he still won a SB after leaving the Steelers. Tyreek Hill is a huge ass and he won a SB in KC and played in another one before running for the money. Kelce is another *******. Dude has been on sidelines bumping the head coach and acting like he is God’s gift to football since he got Mahomes and Swift on his arm. Santonio Holmes was no saint. Plaxico shot himself.. but he had a SB winning catch. If we won a SB or lade the SB this year.. it isn’t because we shipped Pickens out of town. It will be because Aaron Rodgers still has something left and is a HOFer.

Santonio Holmes & Plaxico Burress were both divas too. Both won Superbowls. One Superbowl MVP both had winning Superbowl TD catches. If we hadn't traded Santonio away for nothing we probably win SB vs Packers. I just don't get ll the hate for any of those 3 WRS.....Especially when we bring in Divas like Ramsey & Rodgers. Rodgers called out Austin for running wrong route in endzone, & he yelled at the top of his lungs at Friermuth for not sitting down between 2 defenders on a 3rd down pass. Talk abnout cancer ****. I guarantee you if we were 1-3 right now there would be Pittsburgh Sports beat writers saying what a cancer Rodgers is & how he's blaming & yelling at players. Just one thing about GP. He is NOT signed for the 26 season. His 4 year deal (three here n one in D) expires at year end. With Lamb banged up he'll get some nice stats. He's going to ask for some nice big $$$$$$ this off season. I'm good with us having moved him when we did for Dallas's 3rd in 26.

What fans need to understand is players get paid for production. Not for wins and losses. Pickens should get decent money because the WR pay scale is ridiculously high. Watt hasn’t won a damn thing yet how many people on here say he shouldn’t get paid big money due to his stats? This is why I laugh when Cap tried to use the SB argument. We haven’t won jack squat since 2011 yet our roster build is supposedly headed in the right direction because we aren’t paying RB’s or a diva WR. Where the hell is the SB? Where is the playoff win since we lucked up and Bell moved on? The last time we won a playoff game and made an AFCCG we had a diva WR and a diva RB. Ever since we went “guys we like and can root for” we haven’t won a damn thing in the post season.

I don't think a single person is denying his talent. That's clearly evident. The question is - does his ego/antics etc help or hurt the team overall? I can think of many diva WR's that were also good team players. Santonio (IMO), Michael Irvin, Jerry Rice - even Chad Johnson's act was funny, and I never viewed it as detrimental - just to name a few. There are WR's that aren't diva's, just supremely talented with an unbelievable work ethic. Hines, Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald are good examples. The danger is a diva - that although he produces, is a negative for the team. TO, Randy Moss and Keyshawn Johnson immediately spring to mind. So it seems to me, the Steelers certainly recognized the talent of GP - but they decided his value in a trade when stacked against his production on the field and value to the team was higher. So they dumped him. It will always be debatable I suppose, but the Steelers cut bait. His time in Dallas will prove if that was the correct decision or not. I would have been fine if they kept him. I suspect (even with his baggage) we'll be missing his skill set in December. But I also recognized the warning signs and was not surprised they dealt him.

If Pickens was truly showing up late to practices, games, etc. that's the issue. The reports suggest he was a last guy in, first guy out type of guy in Pittsburgh. I guess you can argue that the Steelers suck anyway and who cares about team dynamics but there's some calculation there where they decided Pickens needed to be out. Presumably related to his work ethic or lack thereof and his impact on team dynamics. How many of you are "fantasy stats don't matter" guys? Because the whole argument for Pickens is basically built on a foundation of fantasy stats. Of course it'll be twisted into 'production' for the right argument.

I don't mind a diva receiver. I don't need a choirboy. What I don't want is a receiver whose negativity spreads to the rest of the team. How many times did we see Pickens on the sideline and either a player or coach had to help calm down his tantrum and try to refocus him instead of concentrating on thier own duties? I vividly remember several times watching his Georgia teammate Broderick Jones with him, trying to settle him down. Does Jones not have anything more important to worry about than babysitting Pickens?

We just watched Pickens have 2 great games and these weren’t garbage stats. Not sure anyone is saying they wanted to pay Pickens as the highest WR in the NFL. I just think its silly to suggest we couldn’t win with him when we are just now getting a QB who is a HOFer.

He had great games before, considering the QBs. Not at all surprised what he is doing in Dallas. He is a supremely talented idiot. He won't contribute to a winning culture. Of all the names you gave I give you AJ as a level cancer as GP. You name lesser divas who let success get to their heads (the KC guys.) AB? Really? Dude was a backup who had no voice in being CARRIED to a SB. Did not have time to act up. Could not last a whole season with the Pats before his cancer could not be tolerated. Don't think the other Steelers mentioned are even in this conversation, Shooting yourself in the foot is stupid but does not make one a lockeroom cancer like Pickens. Holmes got a big head AFTER winning a SB. Don't recall his being a Steeler cancer. AJ, yeah dude is someone that I'd consider a true team cancer whose team overcame to win a championship. Credit to him for being a big contractor to that success. That is however a rare exception.

To LP. You bring up JH? NOBODY ON THIS FORUM DEFENDED HIM LIKE I DID. Not you, NOBODY. I ripped Tomlin over how he failed Harrison. He is the ONLY PLAYER whose acting up I supported. He was disrespected early on by Cowher and EVERY SEASON after his injury. We let him walk to Cincy, and was OUR BEST LINEBACKER EVERY SEASON while starting every season as a backup. He was better in the playoffs in his VERY LAST GAMES AS A STARTER than TJ has EVER been. The fact that HE WAS NOT DRESSING games behind not just TJ and Dupree (better than Dupree) and CHICKILLO the season after he had a better playoff than ANY STEELER SIMCE THEN is criminal. I ha e done this exact diatribe many times. Feel free to ask Dizz, or better OV as I debated him adnausium defending Deebo FOR YEARS. So pleases not bring Deebo into this argument bro and imply I did not have his back.

I don't think anyone is denying the talent. I don't think anyone is suggesting that he can't help win games in the short term. But where is he going to be in 3 years. Is he truly a #1? Is he going to be able to stick with a team or is his act going to grow old? Could end up being a Brandon Marshall situation. Of course, the obvious irony here is that the Steelers are sitting at 3-1 and people are sitting here lusting after a WR from a team that is 1-2-1 because he can help them 'win games'.

Cap.. AB didn’t last with the Pats because of a sexual assault allegation. Keep in mind the Pats owner was also under the scope for a massage parlor visit. Sure, AB wasn’t at the height of his career when he won a SB in Tampa but fans were laughing and saying he would never win anything after he left us. He scored a TD in the SB too. Plaxico was indeed a cancer. I lived in NYC at the time and that man curse Coughlin out on the sideline so bad during a game I was embarrassed for him. He was not a good teammate in NYC but he was a good WR. I think its much easier to minimize a diva WR when they win a SB. But again, I don’t think this is really about SB’s because if we made one with “team players” they would be “carried” by the team if we were really being honest.

Lemming i don't keep track of who all defemnds who but if you were JH #1 supporter good for you. I was right behind you. And Anthony Chickillo i said at that time was the worst outside linebacker vs the run i had ever seen in Steelers history. Which made it more frustrating that James got benched for that loser. And When they brought in JH once or twice he gets a game sealing sack to win the game. It was ridiculous......So the Steelers leak he fell asleep in a team meeting.......to me that's like 2nd graded stuff, and i mean on the STEELERS END. They always leak some stoopid garbage that most fans could care less about when they move on from a player so you think hey it had to happen. When Blount walked off the field with like 10 seconds left they said cancer cut him. But very few Steelers fans know Hines Ward once walked off the field mad with 7 seconds left in a game vs Cleveland. I guess the bottom line is i only care about THE PLAY BETWEEN THE WHISTLES. That's it!
