Pickens: Excited to run “better plays"

Pickens is on tape jogging routes or even stopping mid-route. There's a difference between game prep and in-game. No one ever accused Roethlisberger of taking plays off.

Give me a star WR you don't think ever jogged a route & i almost guarantee i'll find you film where he did. Especially when it was a running play to other side of field.

I'm not following this at all. I don't think "yinzer fans" are much different than other fans, other than there are more of them/us.

I also don't see how social media & the press would have had any impact on the 70's Steelers dominance. Are you saying that social media & the press are impacting the current Steelers' ability to be great?!

Yeah i'm saying Steelers fans would have run star players out of town. Ernie Holmes shooting at a hellicopter, Bradshaw sucking his first 4 years, Lambert wanting out of Pittsburgh on contract dispute, Joe Greene almost quitting the team.....If their was social media they would have been eaten up by the fans way more then they were!.....pretty much they played games & the fans barely knew anything about details of the team other than what they saw on the TV screen watching games until books were written decades later. Obviously no free agency helped. Having Dan Rooney instead of Art II helped a lot too.

Today everything is disected into hundreds of gnat parts & then inuendo & BS that isn't true is even added in.

And Yes i do think social media is afffecting Steelers today because Art II doesn't make decisions the same as Dan did. I don't think Dan cared what the fans thought at all. I think Art does to some degree. Art would have gotten rid of Ben after sex alligations i'm sure of it. Dan didn't. Has anyone else made the connection that our last playoff win was Dan's last year as owner?

It's literally on game film. Why do you think the Steelers got rid of him? Because of social media and fan pressure?

The Steelers GM Kahn made a quote something like "tardiness, emotional outbursts, and negative body language, led the team to believe he wouldn't contribute to a championship environment."......So yeah they didn't mention his performance on the field as a reason they traded him.

And as i've stated before, to get rid of Pickens for those stated reasons, but bring in Metcalf, Ramsey & Rodgers who all have been big baby weenies as well is so hypocritical.

Tomlin admitted to coddling him because he was talented. I imagine that’s what led to some of the comments by guys like TJ, Minkah, and Cam regarding not everyone being committed.

Glad that he is OK. I thought he was a very good team mate when he was here. Great attitude despite being sent back to the bench when Wilson was healthy.

Yeah, class act and very likable guy. But I don't think he's the QB that's going to lead any team on a playoff run.

Ya Ya, we hear from all of these guys that leave under bad circumstances, they are going somewhere that does it right or has a better offense or practices or coaching, and yet none of the guys flourish anywhere that they go. Pickens would have been a star in Pittsburgh, lets see how he turns out in Dallas.
