I'm glad he's used to stack boxes. He'll be right at home in week one against the Jets.

In Kaleb Johnson, Steelers appear to have ideal teammate, complement for Jaylen Warren

      Saturday, May 17, 2025

When Kaleb Johnson walked off the field late last week following his first practice session as a professional, he didn’t wait for reporters to engage him. “What’s up, guys?” Johnson, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ third-round pick, said. “How are y’all doing?” If Johnson wasn’t afraid to initiate conversation with a gaggle

Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in seven years and counting. The earliest will be eight years. I guess that in Art Rooney's II, opinion is worth a 3 year extension.

Our 2024 draft looks to be grade A. Our 2023 draft is an A. The roster is talented, but Mike Tomlin is still the head coach.

I heard on The Fan that it was related to film study/learning the playbook, but he talked about wanting to stay after late to work on pass pro in the rookie minicamp, doesn’t sound like an entitled guy who thinks he can just show up and play.

His play does not look like a guy that doesn't pay attention to details. He his the right hole, and follows his blockers well. He will have to learn who to pass block when he is in their to pass block. But all rookie backs do.

Running back is an easy position to learn.

Pass pro and lack of breakaway speed - not a surprise at 224lbs - are the two concerns that I've heard. IMO pass pro is similar to special teams. It is more about willingness and effort than skill. He'll find out quickly that in Pittsburgh if you aren't willing to pass block it will cost you snaps.

                Especially our playbook.

In our offense, RBs only need to learn 4 plays:

                On 1st and 2nd downs -

                1) Run left
                2) Run Right
                3) Run up the middle

                And on 3rd down -

                4) Catch ball short of the sticks

A bit more than that. He will need to learn how to use OT weak blocking when pushed backward as Trap plays

Pass pro for sure, but he was clocked at 22MPH in college a couple times, not many NFL RBs have done that.

They really need to start clocking guys at the combine in full pads, carrying a ball for offensive players, too.

A lot of track guys are slower in uniform.

I know he had zero fumbles, but at times he carries the ball low.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

Love this pick. Reports from OTAs are that he is pestering Gainwell and Warren for pass-pro tips. I think he’s gonna be our best back since Bell, hopefully can stay healthy.

Also, saw a comp that hits — Todd Gurley.

wouldn’t take much to accomplish that
How is it possible to have the best owner, best front office, best gm, best HC, good/great drafts every year and good FA acquisitions every year, but only have 3 playoff wins in 14 years?

As long as he has a longer prime.
