I was yelling for Golden Tate until Woodson said "Jason Worilds" then I just went completely numb.
Obviously the standard is the standard.

Very surprised. I never thought they would go OLB this early.....especially with needs at CB, RB, and WR.

        Re: Jason Worilds??? Hmmmmmm???

Walterfootball has Worilds rated as their 5th best 3-4 rush linebacker.

        Jason Worilds, Virginia Tech
        Height: 6-1. Weight: 254.
        Projected 40 Time: 4.70.
        Combine 40 Time: 4.61.
        Pro Day 40 Time: 4.47.
        Benchx225: 24. Vertical: 38.
        Projected Round (2010): 2-3.
3/18/10: Unless Jason Worilds was running a 35-yard dash, his 4.47 at his Pro Day was very impressive. There's a very good chance he'll be a Day 2 pick.

3/2/10: Jason Worilds didn't have a good 2009 campaign, but managed to strengthen his NFL Draft stock at the Combine. Worilds ran a 4.70, benched 24 reps and notched a 38-inch vertical.

1/8/10: Jason Worilds has declared for the 2010 NFL Draft. Worilds is coming off a poor season, but told the media that he expects to be drafted in the first round. This has a chance of happening until Worilds wakes up.

11/15/09: Disappointed in 2009; has just seven TFL and 3.5 sacks as a junior.

2/12/09: Despite playing with shoulder injuries, Jason Worilds garnered 18.5 TFL and eight sacks, earning himself a spot on the All-ACC Second Team.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

The x factor is why his production fell off by half this past season... the FO must see some reasoning as to why...

As I asked in another thread, do we have any Va Tech backers who can give some personal insight on the kid?
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

Are they really taking depth in Rd. 2? Will he just sit on the bench for the next three years? Harrison will move inside?

I could be wrong but is he really the best player available on the board at 52??

That 4.47 he ran on pro day is the only thing that stands out about him to me.

                    Re: Jason Worilds??? Hmmmmmm???

                    From draftcountdown.com:

Defensive End | Virginia Tech | JR Jason Worilds
                    Height: 6-1¼ | Weight: 254 | 40-Time: 4.72

                    Strengths:
Super Athletic --- Explosive with good speed and a burst --- Very quick and agile --- Active with an excellent motor --- Does a fantastic job in pursuit --- Good strength and power --- Uses hands well --- Plays with proper leverage--- Reliable Tackler --- Comfortable in space --- Smooth dropping in coverage --- Tough --- Feisty --- Versatile --- Hard Worker.

                    Weaknesses:
Lacks the ideal size that you look for --- Questionable instincts and awareness --- Is not stout at the point of attack against the run --- Is often late off the snap --- Repertoire of pass rush moves is limited --- A ' Tweener who may have to change positions --- Durability is a concern.

                    Notes:
Was a two-year starter for the Hokies --- Went by "Jason Adjepong" before legally changing his last name in 2007 --- Named 2nd Team All-ACC in 2008 and 2009 --- Has a long history of shoulder injuries which have required multiple surgeries --- Didn't have the huge season most expected in 2009 but was playing through a painful shoulder injury --- Played defensive end in college but could also project to outside linebacker at the next level --- Best fit might come in a 3-4 scheme -- Physical tools and style are eerily reminiscent of Darryl Tapp.

I just feel really down right now. I don't know much about the kid but maybe they think he'll be another Demervil (sp?) from the Broncos. Or will they put him in the middle. Is Tomlin showing an affinity for linebackers. Reminds me of the guy from UCLA that we reached for in the third. I hope he's a diamond in the rough.

Harrison is 32 years old this May. We need another OLB. Worlids is a strong dude with good athleticism, much stouter than Bruce Davis. I don't mind the pick.

Yeah, when you got two OLB's who have been to the Pro Bowl in the past three years (three even, if Peezy made it his last year), why such the emphasis on drafting another one? $hit... did William Gay get 50x better in the off-season? Cuz otherwise, I don't care how many passrushers we collect; just f-n throw it on him and it's a sure reception.

True and if he really runs a 4.47 then he is also the fastest OLB that I've ever heard of...
