Tebow was hyped up and lasted all of 3 years. He couldn’t throw the football consistently in the NFL unless it was against Ike Taylor . You want people to root for Tebow because he was white, not because he was good in the NFL.

Taysom actually has a 7-2 record but he has yet to show he can play a full season and win consistently. If he wins the gig this year I would have no problem giving him props if he balls out.

Trevor Lawrence? Umm.. Cap just showed the receipts on how I felt about him. He could scoot AND has an arm. He went number 1. What more hype can you give a QB that crowned as the second coming his freshman year in college?

I think part of the problem is some people, and this includes you, don’t watch college ball that
much or at all so they make blanket statements about players that aren’t rooted in facts or backed by film/evidence. Its just a feeling or reading a draft scout and jumping to conclusions

and remember YOU were the one who tried to say Tua was a dual threat simply because of one scouting report but you had no idea the kid only ran 23 times for like 17 yards his last year at Bama. Yet you said he had Lamar hype! Was that based on his actual game or just his skin color? Because anyone with 2 eyes knew Tua was not a running QB and he falls apart almost every time he gets tackled.

Lamar gets tons of hype because Lamar won a Heisman in college and he was like 21-3 at one point early in his NFL career. Its that simple.

Asking why 2 QB’s who never played a full season at QB why they aren’t receiving the same amount of attention as a full time starter is just weird.

and is Kenny Pickett a Black QB now? I know he will wear Black jerseys but last I checked he was white and he is the QB I wanted all along.

and who on here has insulted a QB due to his skin color? Remember when you called Lamar Buckwheat? Yeah.. only one person on here is insulting a QB based on skin tone or hair texture..

      its YOU.
I watch college here and there. Not like the pros.

I linked you a scouting report on tua. Blame them. I certainly didn’t watch enough of bama to know if the kid can do both.nor would I know the game circumstances if he shoukd run.

BTW. don’t know and don’t care what color he is. I assumed he was Hawaiian. How the hell does that translate into me thinking the color of his skin is why I thought he was a running qb.
i just posted running Qb’s who have a light complexion.
my stance is i wouldn’t want a QB who is not better then average at throwing the ball. And that’s why I don’t think lamaar is elite. But do hope he gets an elite contract.

PS. Pull up a clip of our gang bucket and then go listen to lamaar talk.
then you’ll understand why I called him that.
And FWIW, I don’t give a flying phuck why you think I call him that or if you like it or not.
I wish I could claim that as the originator but have to admit I saw it on the posted on the web by a Steeler fan

When I provided evidence and others disagreed with you, you STILL doubled down instead of just admitting it was a mistake. You said he had Lamar hype as a dual threat when he was one of the most accurate passers in college and ran for 17 yards his last year at Bama.

Could care less what your excuse is for that crap you typed about Lamar.

you would be dumb enough to believe the rumors.

I bet you think Tomlin only drafts the players from VA and MD and Colbert and company drafts everyone else.

Tua was born and raised here in Hawaii and played at the same high school as Marcus Mariota, but his ethnicity is Samoan.

I'm plenty critical of Tomlin but some of you need to stop soiling your union suits in an attempt to make him look bad.

Shortly after the Pittsburgh Steelers selected Pitt quarterback Kenny Pickett in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media about it. Tomlin and the Steelers admitted they made some calls about potentially tradin

You've got to be the most naïve poster on here, and not just in football. Cool Shades affinity for Willis was obviously overridden by Art 2, who wasn't about to let another Pitt QB leave out from under his nose and go on to be a Hall of Famer. Shades didn't dine on chicken wings with the entire Willis family because he wasn't into him. Shades ain't callin' the shots in the big picture.

You'll have to excuse Dizzy. He simply buys whatever the mainstream sells, without any independent thought taking place. He probably thinks Shades makes coordinator hire and fire decisions too.

He also had dinner with Ridder and a few other QB’s.

You have to be dumb as hell to think a dinner is some type of sign.

Why believe Pickett was the pick all along when you can make up conspiracy theories about chicken wings? lmao

My goodness… I told you it was time to log off.

The amount of ignorance by a few of these posters is astounding.

One person says Tomlin loved Willis and people ran with it.

Now its “Tomlin still wanted Willis but Rooney and company overruled him”

this is hilarious because you are the one who actually believed the “mainstream media” who said Tomlin loved Willis.

Pickett is in our backyard and everything we know after the draft tells us Pickett was always our guy but nope.. “Tomlin ate wings with Willis” is the evidence you present?

I know you love conspiracies but Wingate isn’t a thing.

                                For the Wingate crew.

                                Tomlin’s talks about drafting Pickett.
“His tape said enough to be quite honest with you, but we knew so much beyond the tape because of proximity and it just made it that much more comfortable. I watched that guy sit on that patio and watch us work for three or four years. This dude loves football, man. He’s not a clock puncher. He’s always trying to get better. He’s very comfortable in his shoes, meaning the quarterback shoes. I watch them establish relationships with his teammates at Pitt. I thought it was cool a couple of years ago, I watched them forge this relationship with that safety tandem that they had: Paris Ford and D-Ham [Damar Hamlin], right, man, all three of them. They brought the offense and the defense together and they would watch us work. They would put in extra work. You could just tell that he’s a guy that was really comfortable with the responsibility that comes with being a quarterback. That intangible quality, that thing that we’re all trying to measure, he has. And we were close enough to him that we could confirm it. It wasn’t speculative. And so, man, we probably spent about 15 seconds on the clock, to be honest with you, after New Orleans made that pick right before us, it was an easy decision for us.”
                                Tomlin continued.
“Like a lot of people, we didn’t think that we had a legitimate chance to get them to be honest with you, particularly in recent years, the way the quarterback position has come off the board very early. Twelve months ago, the guy from BYU [Zach Wilson] was a fast ride and went very early. The guy from North Dakota State [Trey Lance] really played like 15 or so college games and went very early and so you had that level of anticipation based on recent circumstance. That didn’t get us too fired up until we start getting around 15 or 16. Then we started saying ‘hmmm, there’s something here [laughs].”
