Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been ruled active and will start Monday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Roethlisberger is nursing a high ankle sprain and is still walking with a pronounced limp as he went through his pre-game routine. He is wearing an ankle brace for support.
The Steelers (10-3) hold a half-game lead over the Baltimore Ravens (10-4) and will clinch the AFC North title if they win out.
Pittsburgh is one-half game behind New England (11-3) for the top overall seed and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, but the Steelers hold a tiebreaker by virtue of a head-to-head victory.
Winners of four in a row, Pittsburgh has a pair of very winnable games left against St. Louis and Cleveland. Baltimore finishes against division foes Cleveland and Cincinnati.
