SB Nation’s 2012 Draft Profile Series a Hit Due to Solid Writing and Production

There’s little doubt when SB Nation’s Michael Bean made his latest draft profile video on Alabama ILB Dont’a Hightower, he was thinking of his Pittsburgh Steelers.

Bean, known by many on Behind The Steel Curtain as “Michael Bean” (nothing really changed) has been heading up an excellent draft profile series for SB Nation’s YouTube effort. Along with Hightower, there are 24 other prospects highlighted, all cleverly written (by Bean) and excellently produced.

It’s grainy and Golden Days of Cinema feel give each video a unique angle in comparison to the hundreds of other similar effort that fall short in the entertainment arena. Each of them blend quick-hitting, intelligent and humorous scripting with solid video evidence behind each player’s skill (including a cool “xs and os” animation on each).

He refers to Robert Griffin III as “Mr. The Third,” but also isn’t afraid to point out Janoris Jenkins’ myriad off-the-field concerns, showing the series is well-researched and doesn’t pander to anyone while still being funny.

While Bean no doubt could highlight hundreds of prospects in this series, I’ve requested the additions of Fresno State WR Devon Wylie, Midwestern State OG Amini Silatolu, Miami University OG Brandon Brooks and University of Washington DT Alameda Ta’amu for future editions.

Comment below if there are any you’d like to see, and Bean will do his best to make it happen.
