As MiniHulk teaches us, the most important trait of a good writer is not instinct or the ability to paint a picture with words, it’s the ownership of a keyboard. Outside of this being the first FanPost I’ve ever bumped with an “lol” in it, it’s a solid reason to remind everyone training camp is 21 days away, and counting. – nc
It’s been a while since I posted anything. Considering I now have a keyboard, I’m totally able to. :]
#1: A new Offensive Line: That’s right, fresh meat out there. I like the fact that they’ll be able to (hopefully) keep up with Ben Roethlisberger when he scrambles out of the pocket, or decides to hang on to the ball longer. (then again, we’re pretty used to it by now) Who knows?
Think about it now, the oldest guy on the Line will be Trai Essex, 4 rookies, and a few guys who are now getting the feel of being on the O-Line. My only concern will be that the lack of experience MAY get in the way, but Mike Tomlin is a good Coach, and I know he’ll whip these guys into shape.
I’m gonna assume the sacks on Ben and fumbling ratio will drop quite a bit, IF our O-Line plays great.
#2: A new Offensive Coordinator: Okay, I have to admit, when Haley and Ben weren’t talking at first, I was a bit worried. Now, it’s a matter of staying consistent on the field. Todd Haley does make some well, different choices when it comes to play-calling, but with a now mature Ben, things should play out right. I’m confident Haley will help Ben become a better passer in the pocket, and making better decisions on the field.
#3: Ben Roethlisberger: Well, yeah. Ben is going into his 9th season with the Steelers. My goodness, it’s hard to believe it’s been THAT long already. Well, anyway, he’s a veteran now. I expect him to play like one. If he stays healthy, he’ll be fine. If he gets hurt, he’ll play smarter and better. No, I’m not rooting for him to f*ck up his ankle(s) again.
#4: A younger Defense: It’s going to be weird looking at our Defensive cast and not seeing James Farrior, and Arron Smith, but we still have Polamalu and Harrison, along with Woodley, Casey Hampton (who keeps getting hurt. Sad face) Brett Keisel and many others.
#5: Because I’m sick and tired of watching Tiger Woods and LeBron James on my freaking T.V. and I want football to start already!!!
So yeah. Woohoo. Time to shoot some Ravens and eating a Bengal while I release the Browns at the “Superbowl”…Lol!
Go Steelers!
