PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — Steelers safety Troy Polamalu was named AFC Defensive Player of the Week Wednesday for his performance Sunday in a 13-9 win against Cleveland.
Polamalu recorded two tackles, one sack, an interception and three pass breakups against the Browns.
It’s the first time Polamalu has received the award this season. He has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week five times in his career.
Polamalu and the Steelers are preparing to play Denver in the Wildcard round of the playoffs Sunday at 4:30 p.m. The game can be seen on KDKA-TV.
