Hines Ward comments on Roethlisberger suspension

Hines Ward has never shied away from speaking his mind and this time was no different.  The Steelers’ Ward is a co-captain, and all-time leading receiver for the organization.  Ward chimed in on the Roethlisberger situation today, the first of the mandatory 3-day training camp by remarking:

Wide receiver Hines Ward says quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s six-game suspension is disappointing but justified and threatens to leave the Pittsburgh Steelers in a precarious position when the season begins.

There is nothing wrong with Ward’s comments;  He is simply speaking the truth.  In fact, this isn’t the first time Ward has been critical of Roethlisberger.  Recall last year when Ward called out Roethlisberger for not playing against the Baltimore Ravens due to an injury.  The season was on the line and the Steelers couldn’t afford to lose any more games.  Ward was critical of Roethlisberger and thought he could have played despite the injury. Dennis Dixon was the replacement during that game and while Dixon performed well, his inexperience showed by throwing an interception in overtime to lose the game
