    Trade down with Vikes
    1)Sean Weatherspoon-LB-Miz.
    2)Devin McCourty-CB-Rut.
    2)Jonathan Dwyer-RB-GT
    3)Mike Johnson-OL-Ala.
    4)Torrell Troup-DT-UCF
    5)O'Brien Schofield-OLB-Wisc.
    5c)Danny Batten-ILB-SDSU
    5c)Max Hall-QB-BYU
    7c)Brody Eldridge-TE-OU

I like that although I do have reservations with regards to Weatherspoon being an ILB. I think we will hear the entire "soft against the run" complaints we heard about Timmons and will have some posters longing for the return of Larry Foote.

I do think you need to consider flipping Johnson and Troup. With the demand for NTs as teams franschise or extend possible NT free agents I think it is going to become a premium position in this draft. I think Troup will be a "riser" between now and the draft.

That could well be on Troup....but I think Johnson will be in demand in that third round as well. I think he has all the tools to make a solid NFL guard. I think the steelers....especially Dan Rooney (the scout) love Weatherspoons leadership.
If we miss on Troup look at Martin Tevaseau, NT from UNLV as a late round pick. He is the second cousin of Frank "the Tank" Summers so we should have more insight than any other team.

      1) McClain, Rolando, ILB, Alabama
      2) Chad Jones, S, LSU
      3) Torell Troup, NT, Central Florida
      4) Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford

Only four rounds. Can't even begin to look past that without the combine.

I'll post another version for those who haven't graduated from the 4th grade later. I just have to figure how to do crayons on the computer

That would be a dream come true. But unfortunately its probably a dream that both McClain and Gerhardt drop like that.

See Oviedo this is the kind of 12th grade thinking you need to graduate to with or without the crayons. :P

                Chadman's is better...

I like yours with the exception of picks 3 & 4. I think there are at least 8 better safeties than Wright. Walton is no better than Legursky. Blount will be long gone by round 5.
There are better S than Wright...No doubt. They will all be gone before the Steelers pick. 3 of them alone could be in the 1st round. List you 8 Ss and we will see if they will be gone. Edit my list:
                Berry
                Thomas
                Mays
                Allen
                C Jones
                Burnett
                Cook
                R Jones

I don't think your Walton assesment is correct. Legursky is much stronger but Walton has better agilty. Legursky is very stiff in the hips and his weight room work has limited his upper body flexibilty. Walton has some great knee bend and plays with great leverage. I think Walton's upside surpasses Legursky's by far. These aren't finished products coming out. The level they are at now combined with their potential is the difference between Walton getting picked no later than the 3rd and a guy like Legursky going undrafted. Both could be productive players but Legursky might be close to his ceiling.

I agree with Blount. I moved him up to the 4th and believe he might even go higher. Keepin my fingers crossed.

                1)Sean Weatherspoon-LB-Miz. Like this pick!!!

2)Devin McCourty-CB-Rut. He could be there. Many CBs grouped together in this spot. I have Cox.

2)Jonathan Dwyer-RB-GT Dwyer might be the #2 RB and sneek into the end of the 1st. Doubt he is there this late in the 2nd.

                3)Mike Johnson-OL-Ala. Would be nice pick-up. Can play both G & T.

4)Torrell Troup-DT-UCF If he lasts this long...I would be all over him! I think he goes in the 3rd. There will be a run on DT.

5)O'Brien Schofield-OLB-Wisc. - Definately a good valu pick. If he was able to go at the combine he might have made himself a 3rd rounder. Given the Steelers lack of OLB depth...I think they go with a guy who could contribute going into game 1. Saying that, If he last into the 7th...Why not.

5c)Danny Batten-ILB-SDSU Made a name for himself at Texas vs Nation. See what he does at his proday. Might be a little high for him.

                5c)Max Hall-QB-BYU No comment here. I don't see them drafting a QB.

7c)Brody Eldridge-TE-OU-At this point looking for any value. I don't see another TE making this roster.

Just my opinion. Very surprised you have no safeties or center prospects. We have no depth at OLB and you didn't pick anyone that could help us next year. I believe Schofield won't be ready for 2010.

My top 8 safeties would be

                1) Berry
                2) thomas
                3) Mays
                4) Jones
                5) Allen
                6) Asante
                7) Burnett
                Ward

of which I believe at least 3 will be there in the third.
Kind of surprised the SSs Asante & Ward are on your list. I feel Asante will be a late 3rd. Ward a 4th at best. Combine could change that.

If you are telling me Cook, R Jones, & Wright are still on the board at the Steelers 3rd...I'm taking Cook. I'll pass on R Jones, Wright, Asante, & Ward. If I wanted a SS, Ward might be available in the 4th.

If we take a RB #1

For my #1 I had the choices between Spiller, Iupati and Odrick.

I picked Spiller for two reasons:

                      1. He would do more as a rookie than the other two
                      2. So many of you on this board would have your head explode it was going to be more fun to watch

In reality I would probably go with Iupati if he doesn't prove to be dumb as a box of rocks like Kemo.
I'm on the Spiller bandwagon with you if he's there, which I don't see... BUT...

as I see it, he's the only truly electric playmaker in this draft. He fills the void that'll be left when FWP leaves, but with a 2005 version of FWP, not the 2008 - 09 one without the top gear, besides allowing for the immediate return of Stefan Logan to his life's work or the CFL, freeing up a roster spot for something like a kicker who can get a kickoff inside the 10 more than twice a season. In short, he makes this a better, more explosive team in several ways, PLUS...

if you are as thoroughly cynical as I am regarding such things, you believe that the Great Lockout of '11 is pretty much a foregone conclusion, and surmise that the team will likely be old coming out of it to the point of needing a fairly significant rebuild given that Farrior, Smitty, Hines, Casey would all be 35+, Harrison, Keisel, Pola, Ike all +30... I really believe '10 is our last dance with this group of Steelers, and I want somebody to contribute NOW, because a few years of mediocrity will sure go down easier with a third ring on our hands.
