Gerhart in the 2nd, while a slight reach, could still provide great value down the track & instantly work towards filling the Steelers desire to run more effectively.

Chadman would still, even if they drafted Gerhart, look at LeMarkus Coker later in the draft too. If the Steelers had Mendenhall, Gerhart, Moore & Coker as the RB stable, Chadman would feel pretty happy with that.
Totally agree. I would have no issue with Gerhardt in Round 2.

I would love Gerhart in the black and gold. Definitely worth a 3rd round pick in my mind.
I dont really get the bad character thing here with Blount. I'm sorry but if an oppossing player comes and grabs me while talking out the side of his neck after my team just lost a game...I'm straight clockin him too.

I guess I'd have to be just a bad character guy too then.
it was a straight up sucker punch though. you would sucker punch another guy after a game? man thats pretty low. i hate blunt he is a punk for what he did and the freshman that replaced him is better imo[/quote:146k5fev]

I dont think it was a sucker punch. The oppossing player put his hands on Blount first. Grabbed him by his jersey. That right there throws "sucker" right out the window.

I am a descent fair man but if you put your hands on me then there will be consequenses.

And the real difference between you and I is......I dont hate anyone. Even after I have socked someone. That word is uglier than any sucker punch. [/quote:146k5fev]

well i didnt see the guy from boise state touch blount and he wasnt looking in my mind that is a sucker punch and its the equivelent imo as kicking another man in the nuts. haha there are a ton of differences between you and i this is just one of them. sorry but i have hate for any man who cant fight fair

          Let me ask you-

if you take that situation, and move it to some other social environment.
(ie... not at work or in a sports arena)

one guy says some completely inflammatory comment to another... possibly has been saying such things repeatedly throughout the evening...

at that point- is it still a sucker punch?

          Not so clear

Trying to be the bigger person in a fight is a smart tactic. If you were the smaller person, you'd probably lose.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Hout walked right up to Blount, slapped his hand down on his shoulder pad and was taunting him. This was in retaliation for Blount talking smack before the game about how they were going to roll Boise after losing to them at home the previous year. Peterson, the coach, grabbed Hout just as he had slapped Blount on his shoulder and at the same time Hout was turning his head, Blount threw the punch. It wasn't a full on sucker-punch, but it was stupid. Like I said, it was everything that happened afterward that was even worse. As arrogant and self-entitled as the Oregon program is, I relished watching the whole thing unfold on national tv. That said, I'd still take Blount, but only with a 5th...or maybe a fourth if he runs better than thought at the combine. If he does though, someone will draft him ahead of us.

Mendenhall and Blount would be a punishing combo. I could definitely see us snagging up blunt in the middle rounds, hell I wouldn't be upset if they spent a 3rd on blount to be honest. Dude runs hard.

when Harrison was slapping his baby momma and punching that AZ player in the SB where was the uproar?

The only reason people are making Blount out to be some demon is because it was the first game of the year. Didn't Spikes or one of the Gator LB's eye gouge a guy?

I always wonder what the real issue is when people turn a punch into a murder and write a player off like he is the scum of the earth.

Any unbiased viewer has to admit the Boise player ask for this. I highly doubt the Boise kid said great game and was being a real good sport... get off your high horses and put it in perspective. It wasn't that serious. Players get caught with guns, rob, steal etc... while in college but a punch is a deal breaker?

found this excerpt about the Senior Bowl...

LeGarrette Blount, Running Back, Oregon — Yes, he’s the guy who missed most of the 2009 season after sucker-punching a Boise State player during the postgame handshakes. But during the week in Mobile at the Senior Bowl, he showed that perhaps he has learned from that mistake and he could be a late-round steal. “With me being here for these past few days, everyone has seen a completely different LeGarrette than what they know on TV,” Blount said after one practice session. “It’s just the fact that everybody is here and has talked to me and got a feel for me, know that the guy they saw on Sept. 3 is not the guy that I am. And even if it’s people I just met, they know I’m not that person.” At 6’ 1”, 240 lb. he could be an excellent power component to any team's running game.

I think he will go earlier then most expect. It's the NFL and coaches, scouts, GM's are used to football players doing dumb stuff.... it's how they handle themselves after the trouble that says the most about their character.

You are in Kentucky. If you get into a fight in a Kentucky bar, and the other guy knocks several of your teeth out, chances are pretty decent that you will still have more teeth left than him after all is said and done.

That's why I like to take "the high ground"...I generally like to eat without the use of a straw.
It's a great weight loss program though. I found that out first hand.

PS - I don't advise sliding into a cement base chin first...the cement doesn't give.
