As opposed to the master practitioner of X's and O's that was Bill Cowher, I suppose? Please.

please allow me to clarify and help you guys out on this topic -

Bill Cowher was a great coach because he coached our beloved Steelers for many years and brought us a Super Bowl Championship.

Mike Tomlin is a great coach because he is the current coach of our beloved Steelers and in his short tenure as head coach has also brought us a Super Bowl Championship.

    hope that helps...
Exactly... I think it's hilarious how some fans despise Tomlin because he won a SB his second year. I guess they prefer a good coach who doesn't win a SB but has all the makings of a champion.

If not Tomlin then who... and wouldn't the "cowher's players argument" still apply?

Along with the fact that Tomlin is little more than a glorified motivational speaker whom must Kow-Tow to Roethlisberger so as to please a specific demographic of the Steeler fanbase. IMO

But,...for the sake of answering the question from a position standpoint ,....

ILB (Timmons,..as i have said since he was drafted,... is a Clown and Potsie isn't getting any younger )

CB (Again,.. Gay, Burnett, and Lewis are Clowns, Dshea's been running on fumes for years and Ike whom has always been somewhat suspect,..... is getting older)

S (I realy don't think i even need to speak upon how ridiculous Carter and Mundy are,.....and Clark is likely gone)

DT/DE (People ,..you do realize that Hood is not a 3-4 DE whom would only ever be average at best in his true position in 4-3 ?)

RB (Mwelde,.. though decent,... is a journeyman whom has little to offer the O in terms of impact. And we will neeeeever be able to control the clock with "twinkle toes" Mendenhall maybe breaking off one or two long runs and then proceed to average 2 yards per carry on his other rushing attempts, thereby Ben must be allowed to throw the ball for more than 25 "back yard " attempts.)

That about sums it up for me,...in fact i no longer even have the patience to sugar coat any more evaluations when it comes to Tomlin's "Gritz Gang" anymore,.....
Mr Czar, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

      Sorry watching Billy Madison...funny stuff.

But, I do disagree with most of what you said. I'm a Timmons fan...just not a fan of Timmons in the mack. Wrong position for him entirely. I think Tomlin is a terrific coach. We have no idea if Burnett or Lewis are "clowns" yet. Hood has potential to be a dominant 3-4 DE...and twinkle toes mendenhall? you can't be serious.
As your entitled to your opinion Shawn (disagreement) as well as the passive aggressive quote. lol

But from where i stand the fact that you are a Timmons fan,... is exactly why you and a hand full of others including Mike Tomlin cannot be objective in terms of evaluating his performance or lack thereof. I do not have such an obstruction in terms of my vision or perspective though.

When i watch him play,..i see him as the player i saw him as when he was drafted,....highly overated, a considerable reach in the first round, and a player unsuitable in terms of considerable productivity for our defensive system,.. not only at outside backer but at either spot inside as well.

Before this season began i told you people that he was not "Going to be a Beast,..whom would bring a Polamalu or Chad Brown type impact to our LB corps". And that in fact he would be a liabilty against the run, fail to get off blocks, get washed, run through and around and not give the team much in terms of coverage. Prophecy,..if you will.

As far as Burnett, Lewis and Hood are concerned,....i simply watched all of these kids play in college against their peers at the time and they were all average at best with maybe Burnett being the best of them, Hood somewhere in the middle and Lewis the worst. So am i or anyone else to believe that they will become better than average starters at the professional level ? Granted,...nothing is impossible,...but greatness for these cats is HIGHLY unlikely.

Which brings me to Mike "Big Pimpin" Tomlin,..i am not a woman,..so i am not moved by the mack game that he runs in an attempt to make Steeler Fans believe that he is not wasting the higher percentage of our Draft selections on "cannon fodder".
Certainly not passive aggressive...just playful. I love that quote.

How can I argue with an opinion about people that have seen little playing time? While Lewis and Burnett might be chumps I highly doubt you had alot of exposure to Burnett in college. So, I will have to call BS on that. You tube video analysis is probably a little more than wanting. I think you have made some premature judgements and I don't believe you to be a scout nor a paid evaluator of talent. So, me...I'll take my chances on what the Steeler scouts thought of these guys.

Hood when he got some PT looked very good. I was impressed late in the season with his play. Burnett will probably always be a nickle...but I like his nose for the ball...even with that big drop. Lewis...who knows...never seen him play in college...but again too soon to make judgements.

Tomlin already has a SB victory...something that took many seasons for Cowher to accomplish. So, he gets a gold star in my book. I'm certainly not responding to his "mack game"...lol.

Contrary to what you'd like to believe,.. my evaluations of any players (Burnett included) have nothing to do with You Tube or "snap Judgment". But however,...if such a belief or any other on your part gives you comfort in regards to the future of the Franchise if we continue to Draft the way that we have for the past three years,...well hey,... knock yourself out.

And you,..like others,....will continue the same bit for at least the next eight years,....you know,...the whole " He/They showed some promise this season. Just wait,.. he's going to be a beast. Uuuhh,.. as soon as he learns the system"

As far as Tomlin,..i in fact was an early supporter. I even predicted that he would get the Job over Grimm or Whiz. And in truth,.. i acknowledge his strengths as a speaker and charismatic motivator of men. However,... i do not turn a blind eye to his shortcomings simply for the sake of Devout homerism.

Forgive me if i pass on the Pom Poms,....
