    Steelers looking at CFL LB

    - The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in CFL linebacker Renauld Williams for a workout on Friday of this week and insiders say the team could sign him before he leaves town. Williams played his college football at Hofstra before seeing action with four NFL clubs, including the Miami Dolphins. Williams had 59 tackles and three sacks for the Saskatchewan Roughriders this season.

Williams is a 28 year old MLB who stands 6'0 and weighs 228 lbs. and is reportedly a special teams demon.

That's the important part right there.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I was going to respond that he'll probably make a good special teams player.

These CFL guys go all out on special teams. Kyries Hebert and Rashard Jeanty are two CFL guys that have a spot on our team because they go all out on special teams. I think NFL teams are looking to the CFL to find backup LB's and DB's to help on teams...

Did we scout him at all at Hofstra when we were looking at Willie Colon? Did they play together?

Willie was drafted in 2006 and Renauld went undrafted in 2004. So Colon was a sophomore when Williams was a senior. But since one was on offense and one was on defense, they never really played "together." When scouting Colon, the Steelers should have taken note of that Marques Colston kid who played on offense at that same time as Colon, and lasted until the 7th round of the draft in which we picked Colon in the 4th round. D'Oh!
