There was NOTHING WRONG with the run games with EDGE. They did not rank higher in total yardage because they had fewer carries. You may have trouble with the simple concept, but it really is not rocket science.

You also conveniently ignore that he has rarely had a top ten defense to back the offense.
You conveniently ignore that we are talking about the playoffs, not regular season stats. Example:

Same season, same opponent The Cheatriots.
    Colts lose 20-3
    We lose 41-27

Which team had the worse defense? Better offense?

08 season, same opponent The Chargers.

    Colts lose 23-17
    We win 35-24

The Chargers actually scored more against us in defeat than they scored when they beat the Colts. What defense was better?

Those are the only two times we played common foes in the playoffs, both times our defense was worse.

You claim just like the uninformed media that run game and defense is why Ben has been more sucessful in the playoffs.

    Run game?
When Peyton won his only SB he did it with a run game no less productive than our run game in Bens championships. They had over 100 rushing yards in every single playoff game, Adai had 122 yards and Rhodes 68 in ONE GAME/ Rhodes got 113 and Adai 77 in the SB.

Save for ONE RUN our run game has been unimpressive in the SB and Ben won both. Peyton has never won a SB without dominant running.

    Defense?
The Colt defense held two of four oponents below 10, single digits during Peytons SB run. The Steeler defense has NEVER done that for Ben during his entire career.

People like you look at season stats that bear no correlation to what actually happened in the playoffs.

The difference between Ben and Peytons playoff record is the play of the QBs, period.

Ben has a second a ring as a reward for a historically clutch drive, Peyton lacks a second ring because given that same opportunity he choked.

[quote:3n18nyod]And we are hearing a rising chorus that it was Wayne who was at fault on the INT for the pic 6 when he failed a basic WR rule to cut off the inside route of the CB.
Oh yes blame the receiver. How about this throw it where the DB cant get to it. Ben did it TWCE last year. No need to blame the receiver for drpping the pass. You know what Peyton did twice on that drive? Throw it to the other team. Choke.

    Very nice arguments!

I was watching a replay of SB44 a couple of nights ago and remembered that just a few plays before the pick, Manning had an almost-pick that hit the hands of the defender. It was "recipe" quarterbacking. Works great in the regular season and for stats. But in the playoffs with Ds that are better at hiding tendencies, it spells doom.
You are correct, Manning did almost throw a pick earlier which is not talked about nearly as much. The problem is that the media has gone out of their way to tell us that Manning is one of the greatest of all time. It is a groupthink mentality that has moved into football consciousness amongst football fans. So when Manning starts to play poorly, people automatically look to put the blame elsewhere (because after all, Manning is so great).

I would rather have Ben at the end of the game than Manning. I would rather have Ben in the playoffs than Manning. I would rather have Manning in the third quarter of a week 8 game against the Titans.[/quote:3n18nyod]

    I love it.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
