Re: Who would be a realistic Hire for our New OC?
Realistically?
Rip Scherer or Jeremy Bates...
Both have worked with Tomlin in the past...
Jeremy Bates was Cutler's position coach in Denver and Cutler loved him...Bates' firing was part of the reason why Cutler made it impossible to stay in Denver...Bates also worked with Tomlin in TB...
Scherer gave Tomlin his first coaching job...as QB coach, Scherer actually got a Pro Bowl season out of Derek freaking Anderson...currently the QB coach in Carolina, Scherer works with an offense that featured two 1,000+ yard rushers...oh, and Scherer is Kevin Colbert's cousin...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment

I wouldn't be surprised if both were interviewed.Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.Comment

Re: Who would be a realistic Hire for our New OC?
I don't believe this is the team to give a guy his first OC job. He won't be able to have any control over Ben at all. They are going to need someone who has been in the wars, been successful and can stand up to Ben if need be. I'm not saying this in a bad way about Ben, but in a more pragmatic way. He's won two SBs and passed for 4,000 yards this year a novice or first time OC will not be able install his offense.

Personally, I wouldn't mind Scherer as the OC and Bates as the QB coach...Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.Comment
