I'm not sure that he was worth having around anyhow, he was the ultimate check down quarterback and Ben is the ultimate big play quarterback. If Anderson taught him anything, I'm not sure what it was.

Just said no details but doesn't appear to "need medical procedure"

Interesting. It's already on his wiki page "On January 5, 2010, Mike Tomlin announced that Anderson would be retiring, effective immediately."
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Oooooooh. Tomlin just got really testy when asked for the unpteenth time about the defense without Smith and Troy. Said there is a standard and he doesn't care who gets injured. It doesn't effect the fact they have to win.

Anderson is only retiring because he wants to go root for the Bungles in the play offs..

They were saying in the post game that if the Steelers make the play offs, Ben probably wouldn't be playing.. Hopefully it's just a strain or a sprain or something insignificant.

I think Ben made big strides in the check down dept... before it wasn't even an option unless he was halfway sacked..

checking down a little is still a lot compared to the past.

Yeah i've heard him (Tomlin) say this before,...."The Standard is the standard.". But why does he not seem to comprehend that "You can have Ferrari and Caviar standards all day. But if you only have Ford focus and Bologna money,...your gonna come up quite a bit short". (ie: HIS personnel decisions draft and otherwise)
