Fire Tomlin bring in Shannahan-at least he's got nuts
Re: Fire Tomlin bring in Shannahan-at least he's got nuts
He's a great leader but he may not be a good manager...there is a difference. Time will tell as to how good he is with this offseason. Anyone remember the lame duck seasons Cowher put together...if he gets a chance so does Tomlin.
ours is not to wonder why just invert and multiply...
Re: Fire Tomlin bring in Shannahan-at least he's got nuts
Yeah you can say Cowher sucked
but he never had a franchise QB until the end and then won a SB.
We had ODonell and he at least got them to championships
Imagine if Ben was the QB.

Cowher at least had some balls. Personaly i think the Rooneys just hired Tomlin cause he's black and thats my opinion. What was the deciding factor?
Tomlin began his career with a 15–7 record in regular season play—as did his predecessor Cowher and all-time win-leader Don Shula. Tomlin set a Steelers record for most wins, after winning 22 games in his first two seasons as head coach; in addition he became the first Steelers coach to win division titles in his first two seasons.
When the Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens in the 2008 AFC Championship Game, Mike Tomlin became the youngest NFL Head Coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl.
Yeah, he's done horrible in his first three seasons. I guess the Steelers got pretty lucky that the guy they hired because of his race ended up not sucking, right?

Thank God Dan Rooney overruled Cowher on draft day.

How would he do withe Jets -Mr Expand---
So then coaches don't really do anything then? Since the "good team" won the SB and he must not have had anything to do with it, right? By that logic, he also has nothing to do with the implosion this year?
Is that the case? Or are you really trying to throw out this "He had nothing to do with the team last year and deserves no credit but has everything to do with the team this year and deserves all the blame" line of thinking? I'm assuming you know the old saying about having cake and eating it.
So you are honestly trying to say that even though the Steelers FO has one of the best track records in the entire league with coaches that they hired this coach because of his race...and he just happened to take the Steelers to the SB and win it in his second year because of...everyone else but him... You realizing the entire time that this is the same basic team as last year, right?

Ben is better than NOD no question. However, let's imagine how Ben would fare in NOD's place.
Ben was far worse in his first SB with Cowher than NOD. Interceptions did us in against Dallas. Ben is FAR more interception prone than NOD.
Ben has had the good fortune of NOT playing a dynasty quality team in the SB.
Had Ben been playing against THOSE Cowboys he would fair worse than NOD.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:
TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher

You really don't see anything wrong with this?
Give BOTH credit for success AND blame for failure where it belongs.
Dont just assign blame. That is just as one sided as those who are criticized.
By this standard Tomlin has had the best start two season start to his career we have ever seen. A HISTORICALLY good start.
A GREAT job as a coach winning a championship with a HORRID oline, and pathetic run game. Who has ever done that, never mind in year 2.
This year has been a horrible coaching job. Pathetic.
NOBODY, is saying he doesnt deserve criticizm, but based on his start it is foolish to dismiss him as a bad coach already.
