Which of our FAs should we sign and which should we let go?

And how about every first, second, and third year player starts these next 3 games. It could be like an extended preseason look at some of the young guys.

What you said. And draft the best free safety that they can get.

Next training camp should be an open competition for almost every position on this team.

I'm looking for another playmaker at safety to pair with Troy IF he stays healthy, so we don't have another lost season if he gets hurt... plus we need to draft the nose tackle of the future if we're going to let Casey walk... but I think we franchise him in the capless year if we stay 3 - 4.

Since we will be drafting a bit higher i expect the players drafted to contribute in 1st year itself.

Draft a FS,DT,CB.

Remove Bruce Arians, Horton and Porn King.

Bring back Chan Gailey.

What should the Steelers do in F.A.?

Firstly- make a decision on what to do with Casey Hampton. His signing, or non-signing will directly effect how the Steelers address their needs this off season. Gotta ask a question- given the importance of the NT position to a 3-4, and the importance of the TE position to the steelers O- was signing Heath Miller in the off season, and not Casey, a smart move?

Chadman would let Ryan Clark go. Solid player- seems a good guy. But the secondary needs playmakers- something Clark isn't.

Chadman would then look at offloading Ike Taylor & James Farrior. Add Deshea Townsend to that mix.

Chadman would be surprised if there were mass-changes- but 3 or 4 on Defense is believable.

If they lose Hampton, given the situation in the secondary, it would be a wise move to secure a FA NT. That way, you at least minimise the NEED to draft NT in Round 1. And that would allow the team the chance to grab a FS or CB in Round 1 & 2.

This team is on the verge of falling to pieces.

So many guys are getting too old.

And we have no idea who many of their replacements will be.

Our ILB is extremely weak now...Timmons isn't a bust but he is not where he needs to be. Farrior is done...I thought it earlier this year, now I know it.

the DL is getting old and it is starting to break down with injuries

Secondary is the weakest part of the D--Gay never should have been a starter and Ike is exposed as a sub par DB

Defense needs a lot of work--it doesn't have to retool overnight. I think the D-Line can be solid for next season, but they need to start replacing it.

Secondary needs revamped except for Troy ( I just don't think Clark will be paid the $ he wants)

The ILB needs help now. Farrior may lead in tackles but his coverage is weak now and you could see angles he took tonight.

It's time to retool the D.

As for coaching changes- Tomlin won't be sacked. it won't happen.

Arians- yeah, he's pretty much gone. LeBeau could be asked to 'retire'. Larry Z & the zone blocking hasn't worked- gone. Ligushesky...probably gone too. Probably promote Keith Butler to DC. Not sure about OC, probably someone from outside the organisation. Get Jerry Olsavsky to become LB coach.

I honestly think Joe Burnett has the capabilities of being a big play CB. Maybe not a shut down CB, but I can see him getting 3+ INTS. a year as a starter.

IKE can cover and really has done a great job this year, BUT like Ryan Clark, he has his days where he's exposed and NEVER comes up w/ the big play. I'd expect more out of any NFL player. Being "Good" is one thing, but being "great" is what they aren't

I like Tomlin. I put this more on the players than him. He definitely needs some different assistants though, like a new EFFING OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR!!!!
