The Steelers needed to release one to sign Sweed & Mendenhall. Actually surprised they chose Trannon before the 1st game. Since they have an exclusion at WR for the European player, I guess they feel they have enough bodies at that position. What it also tells me is they are impressed with Rucker as another big WR. He must have separated himself from Trannon in the mini camps. It also tells me that Marion, Bloom, & Walker remained because of their KR/PR abilities. I can't remember seeing Walker return any kicks last year but he is also a "Burner" like Marion...A 4.3 guy...Speed & Height!

why? he never gets any shot at wr but the little i have seen i like a lot, he has good hands AT WR. he should get a shot at the #4 wr spot. he has awful hands returning kicks and punts obviously but he is young, i think a lot of his problems with that were nerves

Yep. If he leaves it will be a final cut. I still think he stays.

Yep. If he leaves it will be a final cut. I still think he stays.

i think he stays in the mix through most of camp, too. realiscally speaking, 4 WRs are locks (Ward, HOlmes, Washington Sweed) so, he's competing with the Dallas Bakers of the team for 1-to-2 spots.

He SHOULD hang around until the final cut or two...
