    Re: Ike to the Bench?

I like it. And as far as Gay being "evaluated", well, um, I hope they do it while he's sitting on the bench thurs night.

I'd like to see Ziggy thrown into the starters role as well, whether kirchke's ready or not. Since the post season is all but totally out of reach, I'd like him to get some real game starts this year. He lacks experience you say? Give it to him. Now. Same with Tony Hills, Urbik and short-arms Shipley. The way I see it anyway is that Ben plays better when he's running for his life. Our offensive line, which most of us have heavily criticized over the last year or two, has actually looked okay in these losses. They've opened some gaping holes for our RB's and given Ben some time on pass plays. Let Ben return to his back yard football whilst giving our future lineman some REAL experience. And if Ben doesn't like it, put Dixon in. And yeah, let's start Sweed. If him and Wallace both turned into studs, man, it would sure keep Ward and Holmes on their toes

I still can't believe we lost to the bears, kc, jokeland and a clean sweep by the bungs

Yeah! and Steely McBeam, make him do 100 pushups for every 10 yards of offense we pick up. And...Make anyone who caught the boats across the river swim the FUG back! Dayum, bring the change Mike, bring it!

I tend to agree with you on all the points mentioned above... but, I'd be in favor of benching him too--make him (someone) a scapegoat.

Frankly, I'd be in favor of any change (benching) at this point. THE PLAYERS NEED TO KNOW THAT TOMLIN'S RHETORIC ISN'T JUST THAT--meaningless words. Cuz that's what I'm coming to take him as.

They need to know that they will be held accountable.
I wasn't hired for my disposition.

They might look to replace him down the line. But not in this game. They won't be starting two rookies. They'll rotate the 2 rooks opposite him. If both perform well then they could both start next season.
....But we all know that is not likely. so we'll replace 1 CB next season if we got lucky with these guys. Mostly likely Gay will disappear and Ike starts for another season. after that its anyone's guess.

I think Gay takes over the Deshea role when Townsend moves on after this season. I think Gay could be a solid nickel corner (he wasn't bad in such a role last season), but he appears to be miscast as a starting CB.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Ike looked horrible yesterday and I'm for benching him.

Gradkowski has the best fake handoff I've ever seen. It's identical to his handoff. He does deserve a bit of credit.

I was at the game like you (also in the North end zone) and Gradkowski's play action rollouts faked my eyes twice and got my Dad two other times as well.
