Steelers Make Roster Move, Sign Madison

PITTSBURGH – The Steelers announced the addition of veteran CB Anthony Madison to their active roster. Financial terms of the one-year deal were not released.

Madison (5-9, 180), a fourth-year veteran from Alabama, was originally signed by the Steelers on April 30, 2006, as an undrafted rookie free agent. He played with the Steelers from 2006 to 2008 and spent time on the active roster before being released in 2009 during training camp. Madison was signed earlier this year to the Cleveland Browns in September but was released November 3, 2009. He was also signed by the Indianapolis Colts on November 10, 2009, but was waived on December 1.

He has registered five tackles during his NFL career with the Steelers. Madison has also recorded 46 special team tackles with the Steelers and led the team last year with 25.

The Steelers made room on their active roster for Madison by releasing nine-year veteran CB Corey Ivy. Ivy signed with the Steelers as a free agent this past November.

It was a mistake to cut him. Fortuitous that Indy cut him yesterday, good that the Steelers get him back.

Good to see him back. Hopefully he can play like he did last year and help the coverage units.

Knows his role, does it as well as anyone I can remember. Glad he's back.

Anthony says he's very excited to be back & that his heart was with the B&G all along.

              Great move.

Did you hear the DVE sketch with the fan calling Chidi to ask him to come back. It was good stuff.

Great! Pap and I can pat ourselves on the back later. Now, get Logan of coverage teams. Now that Madison is back at gunner...I'm smiling again. Now we just need to get Troy and Kemo healthy and I feel we could sneak in anyones back door. <Here comes the jokes>

He was a waiver claim so I believe he is paid the Colts contract.

I completely agree. Logan is an asset on returns, but he clearly seems to be a liability on coverage.
