    2009 Rookie Class sticking around

With the resigning oif Sonny Harris by my count we have the following rookies still attached to the Steelers via the draft or UDFA:

Hood, Urbik, K. Lewis, Wallace, Burnett, Johnson, Harris, Summers, Logan, Redman (PS), and McClendon (PS).

Of that group Wallace and Johnson have made the most significant impace with lesser impacts on special teams by Logan and Burnett. Not a bad job of the front office identifying players the team can use or develop. Sets us up to get younger if they develop.

Don't forget that Shipley is on the practice squad as well.

So far, it is looking like this draft may provide a nice mix of developmental projects and immediate help.

Thanks. I forgot all about him. Thsat makes 12 young players out of 61 (53 + 8 ) or 20% of our players are first year guys.

How could you forget about Shipley? After all, he is going to be the next Mike Webster.

They had to stick considering there's no 2008 class left.

              Mendenhall, Sweed, Hills, Dixon, Mundy...
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

2009 - What about Ramon Foster?

2008 - UFAs Legursky and P Bailey. Legursky looks like a future starter to me. Did you see him pancake the linebacker on one of the plays he filled in for Essex?
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

Good pick up. I forgot all about Foster. Ading them isn't that like 19 out of a total of 61 or about one-third. Lots of young talent.
