    Polamalu for Detroit

Polamalu tells Ed Bouchette he hopes to be ready for the Lions game. I sa y if thats the case we might as well hold him another week. If we cant beat the Lions without Troy...

    Re: Polamalu for Detroit

At what point does this logic stop, though? If you say that about a game at Detroit, then you may stay the same thing for the following week at home against Cleveland. After that, we have Minnesota at home, but since there is a bye after that game, so if they hold him out one more game, he would get two more weeks of rest. Suddenly, his 3 to 6 week window has gone from the minimum to the maximum (which may not be a bad thing, necessarily, but I doubt that the medical staff is taking into account which opponent is next on our schedule when deciding if someone's knee is good to go).
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Well ultimately I believe that Troy wouldn't play until he is ready anyway. However if it is even a question against a team like Detroit he should sit. Call up Delton Hall to play safety.

If he feels like he's ready and the medical staff gives him the green light, I think Detroit offers the perfect opportunity to mix him back into the game plan on a limited basis.

I say, when he's ready to go, he needs to play. Personally, I thought he might make it back for the SD game. 3 weeks for just a sprain is long enough. Remember, he had 10 days between when he hurt it and the Chicago game too. From the time he hurt it to the SD game is almost 4 weeks. 3 days shy of 1 month if I can add right.

I slightly tore both MCL's 2 years ago and the next morning was by far the most pain I have ever been in. It feels like your knee is going to flap open and you leg just fall off because the ligament holding the one side securely is messed up. Standing up after laying down was horrible. It took me 15 minutes to walk down our stairs and over to the trash can to throw up from the pain. I still feel them ache to this day. Taking some stuff for joint lubrication from GNC helps a lot though.

Good luck to Troy. Come back when you can.

"Troy you are 90% lets get you a few snaps against the Lions to break you in slow.....Troy comes on a Blitz in the first quarter and sacks Stafford.....James Harrisons blocker lets go of the two handed bear hug he has on him and goes tumbling into Troy's leg......oops season over......maybe shouldn't have risked that against the LIONS.

My wife went to a cardio tennis class yesterday. She did well for the tennis portion (she was #1 seed in her H.S. once up a time, as was I), but when they switched to some aerobic exercises using those step platforms, she ended slipping off of it the wrong way and tore up her knee. She got x-rays and MRI's yesterday, but all that they could for her at the time was to immobilize the joint and give her ibuprofen and vicodin. We went to a Demetri Martin concert last night, and had to sit pretty far away so that she could elevate her leg (we could barely see what was drawn on the Large Pad). The office called this morning to let us know that the MRI's showed a torn PCL which will require surgery. Apparantly, it was quite odd to tear a PCL without any damage to your ACL or MCL, but I guess my wife is weird like that. She is hoping to be able to climb ladders by Thanksgiving, since part of her job as an owner of a silk floral store is to decorate people's homes and businesses for Christmas. We are supposed to go to the casino tonight with another couple, but I doubt that she will be able to do much walking. She said that she will be content if we find her the keno machine that she likes and just leave her there until it is time to eat.

Whew! When I read the title, I thought it was talking about a TRADE--Troy for the entire Lions team! Am I ever relieved! The Steelers would have gotten royally ripped off in that deal!

Other than Calvin Johnson, who do they really have that is worth a crap?

Stafford could turn into something one day, Kevin Smith is a pretty solid young RB, and their LB corps of Sims, Foote, and Peterson is formidable. There are a few other prospects from recent drafts like Pettigrew, Delmas, Cherilus, etc. I'm sure that Colbert is taking notes, since because these guys play for Detroit now, chances are most of them will be Steelers in a few years.

I agree that you don't sit him just cuz, "it's Detroit". Play him when he feels ready.
