    Weird Favre rumor

Is there any validity to the rumor that Brett Favre is considering the Ravens for a nauseating “possible” comeback?

Favre is too much of a tough guy to seriously consider wearing purple clothing.

Even if he did, when we played them, James Harrison could put the final nail into the coffin of the career of a Raven-QB-for-hire like he did with Steve McNair.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Well, I don't think he'll be playing in Green Bay.

Ya think former teammate Darren Sharper has Brett on speed dial?

(if he had to wear purple, you'd think he'd like to have Adrian Peterson behind him, and the big ol' Williams boys and Jared Allen wreaking havoc on defense...could you imagine him returning to Lambeau Field on MNF week 1 in a purple #4 jersey on the night that they were supposed to retire his number? The Pack would never trade him there, but if he were granted his unconditional release, divison rivals like the Vikes and Bears would be the first to call for sure)

That would be really entertaining to watch! I think John M. would go schizophrenic trying to figure out who to cheer for.

Yes. I have been told that Ray Lewis and Favre spoke last week. Lewis
wants Favre in big way according to someone I know. I can't verify it , but
the guy is typically spot on with his info.

could be a big year for Baltimore if they pull this off. Big upgrade from Kyle Boller.

i couldnt believe how much time they wasted on talking about that loser, i was very angry. i hope he does play for the ravens. then we can watch him take a beating from woodley and harrison. the guy throws a ton of ints as well, maybe one of the most overrated qb's of all time

The Ravens O line is not good and they are lacking quality receivers. Favre will fail miserably if he goes there.

As for the Vikings, I promise you the Packers will not allow him to go there.

My prediction if he doesn't play for the Packers: Arizona!

I think Favre would immediately improve that O-Line. Right now most teams can send 8 at Boller or McNair because they both stink and they are not threat to beat you passing. Put Favre back there and all of a sudden defenses can't send 8 which gives the O-Line plenty of time to do their job.

I don't necessarily think Favre is thinking of ANY SPECIFIC team..... I've heard Tampa mentioned, and also heard a good argument for Atlanta..... Close to his home in Mississippi, the team he started with, and as a transition for Ryan.... Hell, I've also heard Detroit, so he could throw it in the face of his past team, as well as Minn.

I like the guy, but this is getting old....

The Ravens should reach out to Favre
                          July 11, 2008 4:46 PM
                          Posted by ESPN.com's James Walker

The Baltimore Ravens could use a veteran quarterback. Brett Favre could use a veteran team. The Green Bay Packers could use help in getting the legendary quarterback as far away as possible.

Can you say, "We have a match?"

At the very least, the Ravens should pick up the phone and call Favre, agent Bus Cook, or both.

Thoughts of whether Favre can run Cam Cameron's offense, or if Favre fits into a locker room already filled with strong personalities should be secondary at this point. Place the call and talk those things out. Let Favre know right away that you're interested, then both parties could make an informed decision.

Bringing in Favre would be perfect for Baltimore.

The Ravens know their quarterback of the future (Joe Flacco), but have no idea about their quarterback of the present. They're gearing up for a three-way race in training camp, which is rare and never a good sign.

Favre could be the ideal stopgap. Let him play a year or two, let Flacco learn from one of the best of all time, and choose to keep either Troy Smith or Kyle Boller.

Baltimore is a good, but not great, spot for Favre. The Minnesota Vikings would be more ideal because they are closer to winning a Super Bowl. A team like the Chicago Bears would at least breed familiarity.

But the Green Bay Packers would cringe at Favre signing with those two teams. So if Favre wants to show gratitude and respect the Packers' wishes of leaving the division and NFC, Baltimore is the place.

The Ravens lost one retired Mississippi quarterback (Steve McNair) earlier this year.

What's wrong with adding another Mississippi quarterback who wants to come out of retirement?

I think at this point he has an axe to grind and if he can choose his team he will go to Vikes or Bears. From everything ive seen GB wanted him gone the last couple years but didnt want to be the ones to force him out.
