    Logan's Block

Anyone notice Logan's block last night during S.McDonald's catch and run last night? It was awesome!

He lined up on the left side of the field, peeled back like Hines and leveled a Panther in pursuit of McDonald.

Of course we never saw a replay of it because Edmund Nelson was prattling on about State Farm or something.

Anyway, if anyone can find a clip of it, I'd love to see it again.

I'd like to see it as well. I guess, being 5'6" and all, he had an advantageous low pad level on the block.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

      RB,
by that rationale if he tried to block James harrison, the world would spontaneously combust!!!!!!!!

I hope Arians gets more creative this year, than last, and can find ways to get Logan on the field. Put him out there in some 5 wide situations with plenty of blockers in the flats or motion him to RB get him some pitches out into space. He can make people miss and goes from 0-60 in a flash.

          Re: Logan's Block

I was pleasantly surprised to see Logan out there last night at various points in the game, lining up in various positions!

          He was:
          Returning punts
          Returning kicks
          Covering kicks
          Playing WR in routes
          Playing WR in reverses

I'm sure they are just making sure that he's not a liability on the field in non-returner roles. Dropped the one pass thrown his way last night, but you're right Mr. P, just get him on the field!

I'll be upset if Logan is running the reverses instead of Sweed, Wallace or Holmes. The isolations in space may be a good idea, but, I'd still hate to lose him to injury and lose a weapon on special teams. I hope he's only on the field for return purposes and coverage if he's capable. The Steelers found a good return guy and should take their good fortune and run with it and not expose him to injury unnecessarily.

Plenty of play makers on this team and Logan will get his chance to make plays on special teams.

I find that to be a silly rationale, Pappy.

There's likely a bigger chance of him getting hurt on a return where people have 40 yards of speed built up when (if) they hit him.

Being small doesn't equal getting hurt. I'd venture a guess that Sweed is more likely to get hurt because he is lanky and can get twisted up easier. He also has more mass creating a larger total impact.

Not using a game changing player's abilities simply to avoid an injury possibly happening goes against the entire theory of the game. Might as well sit every superstar in the league...they could get hurt on the next paly.
