It's not a case of it being broke; in any scheme, it's the talent within the defense that makes it (e.g. Steel Curtain = 4-3; I actually think a switch wouldn't be that bad an idea, with so many copycats in the league going 3-4 now).

It's more a case of this cast running it's course, and the reinforcements that have been brought in recently (Woodley, Hood, Gay, Timmons) really fitting a 4-3. Plus, LeBeau isn't gonna be here forever.
This cast running its course??? Seriously? They were the best in the game last year, and Timmons and Gay have the potential to actually be upgrades over Foote and McFadden, which is a scary proposition for teams on our schedule this year (which does not appear to be nearly as tough as last year). On our defense, the only starters left that are entering the last year of their contracts are the nose tackle and the free safety (and the nickel corner, who is not technically a starter). Our DE's, CB's, all the LB's, and the best SS in the game are all locked up.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Hopefully Casey gets motivated by the fact that he's about to hit the open market in a cap free year and plays this season like the monster Casey of a few years ago, when he built the reputation that he's been busy failing to live up to for the last several years... then some idiot like Daniel Snyder or Jerry Jones can ridiculously over pay him for the downside years of his career.
