Favre crack back block last night

He did a really bad thing on a wildcat play, went down and tried to take out someone's knees. They wound up on the cart, I don't know how it finally turned out.

Favre is rapidly losing his aura, and I think people will now be out to hit him extra hard.

Not that Harrison needs any motivation.

P.S. I'll be bummed if the league does slobber pansy protection on Favre, but I guess they probably will. I predict there will be more non-holding calls on Harrison that game than any other this year.

I watched the play. No criminal intent on Favre's part. he just doesn't know how to block. If anything he put himself at risk because he led his block with his throwing shoulder--really stupid. I think he just is trying to earn the respect of his new team mates.

BTW the potential injury that Favre could have gotten with that block is exactly why I want no parts of the "wildcat" for the Stillers.

Don't worry, the media will excuse it, just like they excuse everything else he does or says. He is Brett Favre after all.
The Steelers’ went through seven consecutive drafts (2003-09) without taking an offensive lineman in the first two rounds, the longest such streak by any franchise this century.

I don't think that Favre would intentionally hurt someone on a block. But I think it was a REALLY dumb play by the Vikings. Why put your starting qb out there like that during a preseason game?? And didn't Favre say before the game that he had a cracked rib?? Maybe the OC is a Tavaris Jackson supporter

I agree that he doesn't know how to block, and a lot of it is that... but you mention blocking with his throwing shoulder, and so did the guys calling the game. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he make that block on his left side?

Sorry, he gets no sympathy from me. I don't care if he meant to do it or not, you don't go after a guys knees. I am suprised that no one in a Texan uniform had the sack to go after him on the next couple of plays. Live with the consequences of going low on a defender like Favre did.

I am going to play devil's advocate here...

I think you need to separate your dislike of Favre (which I have)...with the play itself.

Ask yourself honestly this question...if it had been Ben who made that block (and don't think Ben is immune from making a bad block in his life) what would you say about the call?

I honestly think it was the right call (the penatly that is)...and I don't think Favre was intentionally trying to injure the player, and it was a stupid Offensvie call to put the guy they have been wooing since last year (who suppossedly has cracked ribs) in that position.

Favre was fined 10 grand by the league for the block. It's a mear pittence for him, btu I feel a little bit better.

Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
