    Ben's lawyer made a settlement offer....

    He basically agreed not to sue for defamation if she dropped the lawsuit and sent him (Ben) a letter of apology.....no money was offered in the settlement and Ben even offered to pay for her to see a psychiatrist.

      Dunlap also said the opposing legal team made a settlement offer this week suggesting they might countersue her for defamation -- a move Dunlap said "borders on criminal extortion."
      Well, if anyone would know what criminal extortion looks like, it would be McNulty's lawyer.

          Ben can make a statement here if she chooses to coninue this suit and forgoe the settlement. If he is innocent, and most believe he is, he can truly clear his name by countersuing and donating all earnings to a rape crisis center. Teaching all those a lesson who come after celebreties like that, and hopefully turning a very dark mark on his name a bit better.
