Well, so much for Tomlin's plan for the team to not make any reference to "repeating" since the 2009 Steelers are starting from scratch and are not a continuation of last year's team.
My media guide came in the mail today, and I think the Steelers are the only team who would have a cover with just their logo on the front after a Super Bowl victory. No Super Bowl logo, no "World Champions" in big block letters (could you imagine what the media guide cover would look like if the Bengals or Browns ever won a Super Bowl???). Just like back in the 70's, when Mr. Rooney admonished secretaries who answered phone in their offices with "World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers."
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.
Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.
We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.
We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.
