Roethlisberger travels with team for Redskins game
    Friday, August 21, 2009
    Ed Bouchette, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger traveled with the Steelers to Washington, D.C. today, yet another sign the injury to his right foot is not serious.

Roethlisberger was injured in the final training camp practice Thursday afternoon. A Steelers spokesman said today he had no updates on the injury.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin and others said on Thursday they felt Roethlisberger would be okay, and that continues to be the privately held view about the quarterback.

There also is no indication whether Roethlisberger will play against the Redskins tomorrow night

This is good news as far as I'm concerned. Danged drama queen!

Of course he travels with the team, he is the leader whether he plays or not. He would have to be incapacitated to not go.

Source: Big Ben to be re-examined
      By Ed Werder
      ESPN

Two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback Ben Roethlisberger injured his right Achilles tendon when offensive tackle Max Starks inadvertently stepped on it during the Steelers' practice Thursday.

But an initial medical examination revealed no significant damage, a team source said.

Roethlisberger initially complained about feeling considerable pain but later reported that it had begun to subside.

Roethlisberger was expected to be re-examined Friday and his playing status for the team's game against the Redskins remained undecided.

However, he did travel with the team Friday to Washington, D.C., according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Roethlisberger had an ice pack on the back of his right ankle when he was carted off at the end of Thursday's workout, with offensive coordinator Bruce Arians accompanying him.

Roethlisberger didn't talk to reporters, but he could be overheard saying, "Oh it just feels great. It feels like a car ran over it."

As the Steelers' starting offense practiced against the starting defense, Starks couldn't handle a rush from linebacker James Harrison, the 2008 NFL defensive player of the year.

Starks went down to one knee as he tripped Roethlisberger, who stayed on the turf for about five minutes.

Ed Werder is an NFL reporter for ESPN. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I think all starting QB's should not be touched or completely protected in practice. Especially Ben and his drama queeniness!
