    Miller Signing and Doogie's Rumor

OK, i wanna take this from a different angle.

Maybe Doogie had an element of truth to the rumor that Miller wasn't happy w/ his role in Pittsburgh.

Is it possible that the Steelers made a commitment to Miller to make him a focal point of the offense??? They said, "We'll show you the money to prove we are committed" and Miller was convinced???

I see Holmes emerging as our #1 pass catcher and Miller taking some of Ward's role in the offense, especially in the red zone.
Here We Go Steelers, Here We Go...

Re: Miller Signing and Doogie's Rumor

I sincerely doubt that the Steelers committed to get Miller more touches so they could resign him. I can't see any team doing that as part of contract negotiations.

I have long advocated our TEs getting more touches in the passing game but its about philosophy not contract language. Hopefully we go to Miller and Spaeth early and often to break down defenses and open opportunities for the WRs and RBs.

Re: Miller Signing and Doogie's Rumor

I don't ever think he will be the 80+ catch, 1000+ yard TE's that some of the quasi-WR non-blocking TE's are (not that he is not capable of it, but because that is not his role on this team and it shouldn't be...we should strive for a well rounded offense including a solid running game and Ben distributing the ball to a whole bunch of different receivers and not just focusing on primarily one guy like Witten, Gates, or Gonzalez).

I think he is capable of catching 50+ balls (as opposed to the 40-something catches of the past couple seasons) for 600-700 yards (as opposed to the 500-something yards of the past couple seasons). I think his TD's should be closer to his first 3 years (6, 5, 7) than the 3 TD's he got last year.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Could it be that many players really dont care where they play as long as they are PAID???? I mean how many guys from CALI really enjoy playing football in PA??? It doesnt mean they wont sign with the team if given the money. It also doesnt meant they TRULY ARE HAPPY playing in PITTSBURGH. As a fan I love to think these guys LOVE playing for our team but realistically it doesnt always happen.

I went to training camp last year for the first time EVER and it was an experience but I'm sure many of you can agree that NOT ALL THE PLAYERS are fan friendly. Many of the players sneak off in the golf carts and dont EVER SIGN on ANYDAY!!!!!! Casey Hampton didnt sign last year and said he wasn't HAPPY!!! He told the fans that as he walked out to practice by himself. Watch him play though and this guy has FIRE and PASSION out there and you can see what happens when he gets mad...(NEW ENGLAND GAME.)

My point is this...although my rumor or gossip or whatever you want to call might still have been true. How many of us go home from a days work and complain about the company or your boss???? How many of us wish we could work somewhere else???? It happens......if your boss called you in and guaranteed you millions for 6 years would you say HECK NO????

I do take back what I said about HEATHS PASSION for his teammates because I did rewatch the San Diego game on NFL REPLAY and that boy was playing his butt off and he was head butting his teammates after he scored that TD.....So he does have the passion and is probably a tough as dirt type of guy which makes him seem standoffish at times.......BIG BEN points to him after he scored but I dont see the big connection that BEN has like say with his OFFENSIVE LINE.........again probably reading to much into it I guess.

I'll take HEATH regardless of if he loves pittsburgh or not.

          GOOO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Of course Casey wasn't happy at training camp last year...Tomlin wouldn't allow him to practice with the team and he had to run by himself on a separate field in an effort to cut weight.

Don't try to rationalize posting rumor, inuendo and other trash. There is valid information that Heath was ever unhappy here. Don't act like a troll.

If you can provide a link or clearly state it as your opinion a good rule is you shouldn't post it. Citing sources you heard at the hairdresser that is 10 times removed from the source is usually garbage.

Even before being drafted by the Steelers, his mother and father were praying for him to meet other Christians on his team and form a bond with them. Their prayers appear to have been answered. Outspoken Christians on the Steelers include wide receiver Antwaan Randle El, defensive standout Troy Polamalu, starting center Jeff Hartings, fullback Dan Kreider, offensive tackle Max Starks and offensive lineman Barrett Brooks.

You need to quit making yourself look foolish.

Just admit that you wanted to post an attention grabbing, bit of sensationalism. Unfortunately for you reality stepped in and made you look foolish. Accept it.

Now you try to take this position like you know something or have insights in a feeble attempt to save face and with every post you make wild unsupportable statements that just continue to make you look foolish.

You need to stop now. You may actually have something of value to add in the future but if you keep down this course you will join a long list of former posters here who when anyone sees their screen name they pretty much just ignore the post.

Miller said he patterns himself after Gonzalez, Gates, Jeremy Shockey and Todd Heap.

"I hope to be as productive as they are," Miller said recently.

REALLY?????????? You want links?????????? I mean come on...this is silly........the more I even look into this the more I believe the boy really wanted to play for STATS and MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
