Keenan Lewis - "clearly the most impressive of any rookie."

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/w ... ies/2.html

Pittsburgh -- Keenan Lewis (3rd round, 96th overall)

Mike Tomlin clearly has been impressed with the plays and attitude Lewis has brought to the world champs. You can't get a better start to your NFL career than that.

He won't be in the rotation to start the year, but Lewis will get every chance. In Pittsburgh, it's all about making plays, which is Lewis' strong suit. Another of his strengths is one that cannot be taught: size (6 feet, 208 pounds). He already has drawn comparisons to current Steelers corner Ike Taylor. Several observers of Steelers activities this summer say Lewis was clearly the most impressive of any rookie.

I think Lewis will be good but don't under estimate the DB play of my boy--Joe Burnett. he will be better than most think.

Lewis has more measurables and was obviously the higher draft selection, but it wouldn't surprise me if Burnett ended up having the better career. As for Lewis, it is great to hear the good reviews.

Corners can look impressive during the workouts in shorts during OTA's. D-lineman can't show all that much when there is no contact allowed during the off-season. I expect Ziggy to start impressing this weekend, when they are finally able to put the pads on and hit somebody.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

There is my guy again (Lewis). I predicted that he will be starting for the Steelers by his second year and I stick to that prediction. I think he will be better than Gay. I think Lewis may end up being a top quality cb. He has almost everything you need for the position. If he were a couple of tenths faster, he probably would have been a first round pick.
The Steelers’ went through seven consecutive drafts (2003-09) without taking an offensive lineman in the first two rounds, the longest such streak by any franchise this century.

Great point as usual RB, I think that Ziggy will start turning heads now that the pads are on. This dude's a monster, and will be a great spark on the DL. Lewis, I think will continue to impress, with his size, he may eventually be Clark's replacement beside Troy in the future.

We lost McFadden and we'll lose Townsend soon, so it would be good if both these boys do well, so that we aren't desperate in coming drafts at CB. Gotta keep that best player available thing going for us.
...not to mention the Super Bowl winning. I kinda like that.

About Ziggy, I read somewhere that he's been getting "rave reviews" at camp so far.

I can't remember where I read it but I'll try to find it and post the comment/link.

It may have appeared elsewhere, but I believe that Jim Wexell reported it on his twitter feed from camp.
