I met up with SN1 at the AFCCG. The Eagles and Cardinals were still going at it. I remember telling SN1 that I hope the Cardinals win because the Eagles defense was the only one we faced last year that made us look REALLY bad.

RIP JJ, from everything I've heard the man was a class act and a credit to his family and the NFL.

I remember watching the NFCCG from Jumbotron on the South Plaza where SN1 hangs his sign. I must have just missed you. But, yes, that Eagle defensive performance against us earlier in the season was a Jim Johnson calling card game. Impressive, for sure.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Not that it matters when we are talking about a lost life but it makes you wonder how much the team knew privately around the NFC championship and if Johnson was already not that close to the Defense in that week's preparation and gameplan.

They came out inspired and as agressive as a typical Johnson led defense but uncharacteristically had a ton of missed assignments leaving Jeremy Urban?, etc wide open on some plays.

There were times in that Eagles/Steelers game where I almost wanted the Steelers to punt on 1st down because afte three plays it seemed that they were either giving up a turnover or a net loss of 20 yards that hurt field position. One of the few times I have seen the offense last year clearly out schemed, coached, and physicaled.

Yeah, SN1 said I just missed you. We got into Pittsburgh a bit late because of the weather and my buddies wanted to hit Primantis before the game. We also hit Primantis after the game

My sister is visiting Pittsburgh this week. She called me earlier in the week to tell me that she downed two Primanti sandwiches in one sitting. I have never been more proud.
