    Tomlin versus Ben

    Who do you believe in?

    Do we need Ben?

or will Tomlin have any backup ready to step in a win games - even the #2 QB.

    I'm leaning toward Tomlin.

I expect my #2 QB to win us a SuperBowl too.

I'm not lowering expectations for anyone.

    SuperBowl or Bust.

    This is Tomlin's team!!!!!

    Re: Tomlin versus Ben

Ben's just a smidge vital to our title hopes. Just a little. Do you think seriously think Batch and/or Dixon can guide this team to the promised land? I think someone spiked the Kool-Aid that ol' flippy's been drinking. We've had great defenses in the O'Donnell/Stewart/Maddox days, but it wasn't until Ben arrived that it all came together.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

taking in consideration cowher could only win a sb when ben arrived i would think ben is more important than anyone on the team. after bradshaw the list of starting qb's is pretty pathetic. o'donell and korky were the best of the bunch and that says a lot. i dont want to see any of batch or dixon during the regular season unless its in the last few weeks of the regular season and the steelers have the one seed.

I think Tomlin takes the approach that any one player is not bigger than the team. That is a good philosophy to have in a team sport like football. It is one I agree with. They can surely make it to the playoffs without Ben. It is debatable whether they can win a SB without his contributions. Teams won SB's with lesser QB's so it is possible.

We won the AFC championship and the Super Bowl without Hines, but I doubt we'll win the Super Bowl without Ben.

No other QB could have won a SB with that line and lack of running game we had last year, no matter how hard Tomlin cheer leads.

This is why we need to pick up Michael Vick now that Goodell is going to allow him to play. We can win with Vick.

It should be Tomlin AND Ben.

You are correct in that Tomlin generally takes the team approach, but I have heard more than one audio clip and seen more than one video clip which shows Tomlin singing "Number 7's" praises both on the sideline and awaiting him before the team get's to the locker room. MT is smart enough to know that not all plays go up as drawn, and that there are few quarterbacks in the NFL right now who can extend the play and make the throws that Ben makes. And for that matter, the wideouts as well for getting open after a play goes awry. In short, Tomlin knows what this team has in Ben, and so do we. I just can't see us winning a Super Bowl with Charlie Batch, as much as I like him as a Steeler.

I will openly admit as i always have that i am not and have never been impressed with Ben as a passer going back to his collegiate days when he was just as inaccurate, inconsistent and piled up stats throwing playground style deep balls against MAC secondaries.

But even with that said,... i have to admit that he has done what Malone, Bubby, Neil, Tomczack, Kordell, and Tommy couldn't do,....contribute to this team winning Championships. (Neil and Tinkerbell (Kordell) in particular)

I also have to agree with the notion that we would be finished (to say the least) with a timid and brittle Batch or Dennis Dixon under center.

Bottom line Tomlin vs Ben is a non issue in my opinion,....as Tomlin has no leverage whatsoever at this time. But,....whom knows what the future may hold,.....
