    Who Are the Next 2 to Go?

    With the team needing to get to 80 players by the beginning of training camp, the Steelers cut 4 players recently - but still need to cut two more in the coming weeks. So who will it be?...

    My guess is Billy Latsko (FB) & Mike Potts (QB) - mostly because those two positions are set. Four arms are plenty for training camp & Latsko is a scrub with Davis & Russell getting most of the time there.
    It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust & sweat & blood...

    billy latsko is a good blocker. i think he sticks for a short while then gets cut and put on practice squad... potts will go as could Bloom...

      I think Bloom is extremely over rated, but may be around when camp starts...

        i agree with you on bloom, i'd just rally hate to see latsko get sent packing already.

          Sean Mahan and Nick Eason. A man can dream, can't he?

          And, yes, I do understand the cap ramifications of cutting Mahan this year vs. next year...it's a gag post.

            it's either taking it from behind and keeping mahan or swallowing the cap hit..

            i feel as dirty as that sounds! (after seeing mahan play)

              If we could carry Staley's contract for as long as we did & keep Barrett Brooks & Jamaine Stephens as long as we did, then I'm sure we carry Mahan for one more season. Besides, he's got to be better than either Stephens or Brooks ever was.

                Actually I think Mahan adds depth to the line other than just a below average center. Keeping him for the season might not be a bad idea considering the current state of the O-line. I just hope he never has to snap the ball to Ben again this season or next...
