The NFL doesn't have to beat soccer over in Europe...

All it has to do is generate enough interest to grow their overseas revenue...
Actually, my post was NOT about you...but, if the shoe fits, feel free to lace that &!+€# up and wear it.

it still has to compete with soccer though and that in itself is very difficult. nfl in europe is really stupid. canada makes sense with the bills but thats it as far as expanding the borders for the nfl. i have no desire to go to europe but it would be cool to go there for a steeler game, i guess. id rather go to the burgh though

Yeah...if the NFL moves one of our home games to Ireland in the near future, SN1 and I better start convincing our wives now about how important it will be for us to travel to the Emerald Isle in the fall of 2010 or 2011 or whatever.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I actually think a game in Ireland would be a good look. Because it's an opportunity to not only properly represent American football overseas (as opposed to two bottom feeder units boring Europeans to sleep),...but Steeler football as well. Not taking into account the fact that us playing in Ireland would essentially be a home Game as i do not think there is a larger contingent of foreign Steeler fans outside of the UK.( though they are all over the World.)

Not that it matters to me whether or not our game is loved around the world,...but i do want it to be respected.

And in the end,...it is a good business move for the league, (overseas revenue generated by interest in the game) which helps to strengthen the league as a whole.

Besides, we never have to be concerned with foreigners coming to saturate the ranks of the Nfl as is the case with MLB,.....as it would be nearly impossible for countries outside of Northern/Western Europe, Australia, Canada, Russia and possibly Brazil to even field many men physically capable of playing at the pro level.

There will probably be at least one chadvote for the Steeler overseas game to take place in Sydney.

As long as it isn't a hanging Chadvote.

It doesn't have to compete with soccer at all...at least, not right away...

Right now, the NFL is a novelty in Europe...NFL games can fill 100,000+ seat stadiums in Europe...they just want to generate enough interest that they can sell merchandise and obtain lucrative TV contracts in Europe, just like they have in the states...

It will take time, but it can happen...soccer was once nothing here in the states, and now it is more popular than ever...it still is only a fraction of the popularity of the NFL, but I'm certain that the NFL would be ecstatic with a similar level of success in Europe...
