Re: If you were the Steelers Front Office . . .

Option #2 is a no brainer. Two second round picks are more valuable than the last pick in the first round. Even if we had to give them a 2010 4th rounder instead of them giving us a 2010 4th rounder, it would still be in our favor.

Using the standard draft trade value chart, pick #32 is worth 590, pick #45 is worth 450, and pick #60 is worth 300. The Giants could theoretically package those 2 second rounders to move up as high as #23 or #24, so why would they throw in a 4th rounder next year only to move up to #32. I'd jump all over that right now if it were somehow offered.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

#2 would be hard to turn down. Unless the steelers do have an "our guy" and he is still there at #32. Otherwise 3 picks in the 2nd round (45, 60 and 64) could really fill some holes. I wish you hadn't posted this because it's such false hope...

#2 or #3, depending on who they are targeting.
damn, lots of 2nd rounders makes option 2 look nice, but getting up into pick #20 AND shedding two sizeable contracts is an interesting move. I think Pap would like #3.

I just like to play devil's advocate to try and stir things up. I may not necessarily believe what I'm arguing with anyone, just trying to make sure there's something to think about and discuss.

Although, #3 would be a tantalizing option.

no, I think you are right in some respects concerning our expensive, older starters. I would just want to make sure we have the right guys ready to step in.

I just threw out a pretty crazy trade scenario with KC that would be rediculous in another thread... I'm probably just a tad sauced and wishful at the moment.

the parker part screws that one all up...

detroit makes an offer for foote and gives up a higher pick (say 20 overall for 32 overall+foote) and I'd do it...

otherwise, Parrish is the only one that truly makes sense... the others give us like 27 picks and not much else... and unless you have a target, you don't just trade.
