Patriots | Looking to acquire Peppers?
    Mon, 16 Mar 2009 13:24:05 -0700

Vic Carucci, of NFL.com, reports the New England Patriots are talking with the Carolina Panthers about acquiring DE Julius Peppers from the Panthers for the 34th overall pick, according to league sources. The two teams hope to complete the trade before the 2009 NFL Draft.

Does this team ever develop their own talent? Damn I hate the Pats.

Give em credit. There is more than one way to do things, and they seem to have sucess in their way.

Their current D-Line is all home grown talent: Ty Warren, Vincent Wilfork and Richard Seymour.

If they do sign him, I wonder who starts between Warren, Seymour and Peppers...

Peppers has stated that he wants to be a 3-4 Outside Linebacker. We'll see if that was just his way of creating more interest. Seems like the Patriots are biting.

Peppers would be an OLB opposite Adalius Thomas when they show a 3-4 look, and then put his hand on the ground when they go with a 4 man front.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

Absolutely they do. Are you serious? The Pats success started with great drafts. I may miss a few here, but I believe Troy Brown, Brady, Bruschi, most of their best o-linemen, SEymour, Assante Samuel, Wilfork, Willie McGuinnest, Ben Watson, Jarrod Mayo......

I think they have a history of drafting pretty well.
Even if Bill Belichick was getting an atomic wedgie, his face would look exactly the same.

That's scary to me. I think Peppers can play in either 3-4 or 4-3.

Re: Uh-Oh...***'s Up to it Again

Out of all their off season fa signings, this is one that concerns me. With peppers, thomas, mayo, seymour, wilfork, and warren they have the potential to generate scary and consistent qb pressure (and if Bruschi throws caution to the wind and has romonowski hook him up with some high quality and top o the line, undetectable 'roids). And with consistent qb pressure their uber crappy secondary suddenly becomes quite effective. Yeah, of course he'll be a 3-4 olb and replace the void left by vrabel. They'll probably have him on goal line offense as a receiving threat ala vrabel since he's supposedly this super-athlete.

Got to hand it to the cheating bastards, they seem run a good program over there. I mean, look how many years it took for them to get caught taping other teams signals, walkthroughs, etc..? Got to give them credit for cheating like champs!

Look forward to renewing our rival with them again this year (though I don't believe we meet them in the reg season?). No doubt they pick up where they left off and dominate that super-sh!tty afc east division
