Kemo Therapy For The Raiders?

    http://www.realgmfootball.com/src_wiret ... on_sunday/

--The Raiders continue to make moves that rectify their recent ineptitude. They released safety Gibril Wilson one year into a ridiculously overpriced (thanks to Wilson’s Super Bowl inflation) deal. They are also working on the financial specifics of releasing WR Javon Walker, perhaps the biggest free agent bust of all time. It’s a complex scenario, but look for the Raiders to swing the axe before Walker’s $5M roster bonus is due late next week. As far as who they are looking to sign, Chris Kemoeatu and Reggie Williams appear to be the biggest names. As for Wilson, don’t discount a return to the Giants, though the Falcons and Texans will be players.

Kemo signing with the Raiders would be fantastic -- they'll undoubtedly pay him enough that the Steelers will end up getting a great comp pick.

Do they sell silver crucifixes at Giant Iggle? He may want to invest before he gets on the plane out there...

Similar scenario to FattMaxx, when he jumps, all we have left is Simmons (yuck), Stapleton (marginal) and Essex (how exciting, not). Oh yeah, and Willie Colon (hint, hint) This is a bad set of guards, any decent rook would be starting from day one.

I'm not a Starks fan, but I think that Starks is a much better LT than Essex or anybody else they could plug into that spot.

With Kemo, this is a guy that couldn't beat out Simmons. Essex or Stapelton might be a step down from him, but not by much. I think Kemo is very expendable, and wouldn't bring him back for any sort of significant deal. Starks, on the other hand, was not as expendable, simply because he plays left tackle.

              on a positive note-

kemo is almost certainly a much better fit in a man blocking scheme- such as the raiders use.

so, between the payroll and performance- the steelers could very well get a 3rd or 4th rounder out of it-

add that in w/ the likely mcfadden exodus, and the steelers are looking at some nice compensatory picks next season.
