      Re: Opinion on Ben

I think we have to understand that people can't argue with his success (2 rings), and now, people have seen on a national stage what he can do (game -winning drive in the super bowl), so they can't throw the "he can't get it done" tag on him. All they have is cheap insults on the fanbase, or callign him fat, or saying "he only did it because of his team". Things that no one can prove. They've got nothing but a bad case of jealousy.

        Re: Opinion on Ben

Ben's biggest obstacle to respect is that the Steelers often win ugly.

But like Tomlin says, you can throw style points out the window. I'll take the Lombardis.

Ben 'looks' fat because he wears some really thick rib pads. That's his protection against our often leaky OL.

How many ripped qb's are there? not very many and for the most part they suck. Ben does where rib pads which make him look larger than he is.

Ben better go on the Casey Hampton off-season diet if he wants to catch up with Jared Lorenzen...a.k.a. the Pillsbury Throwboy.

No kids, that is not an out-of-shape fan in the stands...it is an actual Giants' QB on media day prior to Super Bowl XLII.

Actually, Ben also needs to eat up if he wants to attain the hefty status of Daunte Culpepper or JaMarcus Russell.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

I seem to remember a report on him when he was drafted. He looks very sound in the fundamentals and understands the game well. Has he ever taken an NFL snap?

He looks old. If I didn't know any better I'd think he was a coach.

Are there any "ripped" QBs? Baby Face Brady? Manning?

Ben is just a big guy in a "husky" sort of way

He is pretty "armored up" for games with rib pads and the like. He looks like he is about to go on patrol with the Army Rangers in Afghanistan.

He went 4 of 8 for 28 yards in 2 games in 2007 for the Giants. He was with the Colts during training camp this past year, but was cut at the end of the pre-season. He played with the Kentucky Horseman of the Arena League (actually af2) this year.
