NFL Anatomy of a Play: "The Drive"

    http://www.nfl.com/partner?partnerType= ... G&week=21#

Friggin' awesome analysis of that drive - the calls, the reads, the reaction of each player as the plays developed ... THIS is what it's all about.

And it's clear on that last play - Ben is as smart as anyone needs to be to be the BEST QB IN THE NFL - he went through his reads methodically ("RB in flat ... covered; Hines short ... open, but they're closing fast. I think I'll pump fake to Hines, lure the safety in, then Holmes can get behind him to the corner, then we'll take it from there ...").

    Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Awesome stuff. I don't like it being called The Drive though. I look at that title with a negative connotation only because growing up in Cleveland everyone would curst John Elway and "The Fumble" and "The Drive...usually all in one sentence. Ha.

What should we call it? I'd like for it to displace Elway's in NFL lore ...

Its fitting though...that Ben is 7 and his favorite guy was Elway...number 7 whom had the original drive. The Drive II would be kinda cheesy...but I don't know what else to call it. Ben called it Do or Die...so somehow tying that in would be cool. I'm not that creative.

I thought about a name for that drive and came up with this...

                "THE DRIVE HOLMES!"
