Immaculate Reception, that was 1972? Was helping my father paint the kitchen, listening on the radio (is it possible it wasn't televised??). It was like a miracle, really. Moved from Pittsburgh after college but remained black and gold over all the great, and not so great, years.

If you were a kid in Pittsburgh in the 70's I do believe it was a law to be a fan! I remember thinking - we're eating dinner in front of TV (4:00 games). Holy cow, this NEVER happens something big is going on. City of Champions in '79 - what a fantastic time to be a kid in the Burgh.

Played catch with Mean Joe Green and his kids in North Park when I was 12 (just lucky as my pop and I were playing with a football and they walked up and joined).

Folks too me to Latrobe. Every kid should go.

Speaking of kids - we're having a SB party and one couple is bringing thier small child. My wife told her friend, "I can probably control our puppy but not my husband! Fair warning"

Mrs. Ghost wins the quote of the day!!!
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

It wasn't televised in Pittsburgh due to the non sellout blackout rules at the time.

Grew up in Altoona/Johnstown area, didn't know anything else. The first time I really remember was Bill Cowher's first year, we had home field advantage and I thought "Wow, I get to see the Steelers win a Super Bowl instead of just hearing my dad talk about it" Didn't happen that year, but I have bled black and gold ever since.
