    Which Steelers Player

Which Steelers player will step up their game the most for the playoffs?

I think I'm going with one of the following:

    Casey
    Timmons
    Woodley
    Ward
    Polamalu
    Ben
    Willie
    the collective OLine

Woodley and Ward! I think these two will make a significant contribution in the playoffs! Ward always steps up in the big games and Woodley played really well last year against Jax, I just see these two playing well. I don't think Clary can handle Woodley coming off the edge, Rivers I believe is in for a long day! The Chargers didn't have an answer for Hines last time and now that Heath is back for this game they are going to have a hard time stopping the passing game!

Ben can lead the way to the promised land once again. He realizes the epic level of support he is getting from his defense, and he will not allow that to go to waste.
Steeler teams featuring stat-driven, me-first, fantasy-football-darling diva types such as Antonio Brown & Le'Veon Bell won no championships.

Super Bowl winning Steeler teams were built around a dynamic, in-your-face defense plus blue-collar, hard-hitting, no-nonsense football players on offense such as Hines Ward & Jerome Bettis.

We don't want Juju & Conner to replace what we lost in Brown & Bell.

We are counting on Juju & Conner to return us to the glory we once had with Hines & The Bus.

          2004 Playoffs = Jets - 17/30 - 1 TD - 2 Picks (1 Pick 6)
          2004 Playoffs = Pats* - 14/24 - 2 TD - 3 Picks (1 pick 6)
          2005 SB = 9/21 - 0 TD - 2 Picks - QB rating 22.6
          2007 Playoffs = Jags - 29/42 - 2 TD - 3 Picks (1 Pick 6)

          Above four games = 5 TDs - 10 Picks (3 Pick 6)
          Not pretty.

In Ben's defense, he was facing a Pats team in 04' that cheated.

I am hoping Timmons is going to have a big impact. Hopefully we can match him up against Gates. If he can hold him down, then we can utalize Troy in many different ways.

I also think Ben is going to have a big run in the playoffs. I think it is his time to step up.

In '04, he was a rookie. Rookie QB's don't perform well in the playoffs even when they win (like Flacco's 9 of 23 performance for 135 yards in Baltimore's win over Miami).

In the Super Bowl, I could care less what his stat line looked like...he lifted the Lombardi trophy that night. The three weeks prior he won pretty, and that game he won ugly. But the point is that he won.

Last year against the Jags, his stat line was not impressive, but he managed to lead the team back from 18 down to take the lead in the 4th quarter. In spite of early struggles, he lead his team back when it mattered. You can't knock him for that.

While his overall playoff stat line may show a very mediocre 12 TD's and 11 INT's, it also shows 5 wins and 2 losses. I personally think that he will step up his game in these playoffs. I don't know how much better his playoff TD-to-INT ratio might be after these playoffs, but I think he is capable of improving his playoff record to 8-2. That's all that really matters in the end.

If we can just manage to run the ball with ANY consistency, Ben will have a good playoff run. I know, no duh, right??

How about just his last two playoff games?
                      2 TDs - 5 Picks
Time for Ben to turn it around.

I will have to disagree (surprise). If his playoff TD-to-INT ratio does NOT improve considerably he won't see his playoff record improve to 8-2.

                          Colon.
I think many of our players are doing well currently and it will be difficult for them to step up their game a lot. I think Colon could easily step up his game the most. Kind of like a diet contest between a 500 lb woman and a 150 lb man. It would be easier for the big, big woman to lose the most weight and be perceived as the most improved.
