Noll was a strict disciplinarian father figure, so was Belichick, Tomlin is the cool dad in the neighborhood. It's no surprise everyone wants to go to the house where the dad buys you beer and lets you watch porn.
According to Buzz the article says Roberts quote on Tomlin wasn’t after the hit on Fields.

Funny how discipline didn’t help Noll and Billicheat once they lost their HOFer QB’s. Noll had an epic run in the 70’s. But where was the discipline in the 80’s??

I went to camp when Noll was the head coach and watched players scrap for a full minute. How was that possible when Noll was a father figure and disciplinarian?

Noll didn't have free agency, which hurt in the 80's as much as it helped in the 70's. He also didn't lose to bottom feeders with the alacrity that Tomlin does, and won road playoff games with Bubby Brister vs. Warren Moon and Mark Malone vs. John Elway, something Tomlin lackeys can only dream of.

we didn?t lose to bottom feeders in the 80?s?

        yeah? okay.

I know we lost 51-0 vs the Browns in the home opener in 1989. Wont even try to dig for losses against bad teams. I?m sure it happened in the 80?s.

Noll is still our best coach but acting like players never fought or played undisciplined football under his management is crazy talk.

I'm sure our bad teams lost to other bad teams, but Noll's record as a heavy favorite was polar opposite Tomlin's. He also had several huge upset playoff wins.

I think Noll was our best coach. But I don’t agree that his coaching style stopped us from having PF’s or bad penalties.

I also believe if Tomlin fails this year he should be let go or asked/forced to “retire”

Tomlin has a chance to crack the top 10 in wins list this year. If not this year then I'm sure next year, maybe even pass Noll.

20 more to tie Noll, 27 to tie Marty Schottenheimer.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

                  TCFCLTC-
The Coach Formerly Considered Less Than Cowher
