    roster holes

Loved the draft. Kahn and team continue to impress but we have two glaring needs and another not as glaring need in my mind.

Wr2 - The room may be the weakest in the league. Options continue to dwindle. Hopefully something breaks post June 1st.

Cornerback - while we have some young unproven talent which may or may not develop I think we could use another savvy vet.

Edge depth - be nice to see Golden back.

I realize these are fairly universal takes but wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

If nothing changes my first 3 picks of 25 would be

    DL
    Wr
    CB

What does everyone else think position wise on 25?

I think you may be able to say we need a WR 1a and 1b. Pickens hasn't proven he is close to a WR1 besides making highlight reel catches. A WR1 has to be able to make plays when the defense is focused on taking him out of the game. I haven't felt this uneasy about WR in a decade. But if the plan is to really focus on more TE targets then it might work. That said, I'm still in favor of a big trade or as a fall back signing Tyler Boyd. Need another guy with experience.

I agree that another CB for depth would be smart. No idea what Trice or Rush are. Could be solid future players or nothings.

As far as 2025...Defensive Line, DB and RB. On the latter, if they aren't going to extend Harris, I'm really uneasy about Warren being a #1.

Pickens did not play like a #1WR in his first playoff game. I think it comes down to the mental part of it. Can he stay focused when teams double team him and get physical? Also might be a good reason to try and get another playmaker at WR so teams can't double Pickens all day.

I'd have to say that everything said here is valid.
Too , every team in the league has some holes to fill so we are not unique there. Draft appears to have given us possible answers to a bunch of questions. So we may not have as many weaknesses as we believe. We won't know for months. However the picture gets clearer when camp starts, clearer still through the pre-season and once the games start for real by year end we will know what we got and what we don't got.
Some aging players like Cam on D and Wilson on O but every team has some of that. We have it but not a lot of it.
Back to the drafts or future drafts the "think tank" in place now Khan's crew I'm positive about. Future appears bright for Sunday ball in the Burgh. Physical, smashmouth, size n speed are pieces being brought in. I like it.

Need an insurance policy at WR, maybe, but I don't think people fully grasp how Art Smith's offense will work -- WRs are almost an afterthought, we don't need the '95 crew to make this offense work. TE's and RB's are gonna eat, one WR will get the lion's share of WR targets.

It would also be nice if we had a TE that we were confident could carry a heavy workload IMO.

But it was pretty far down my list of concerns this year.

PF could end up playing a lot of slot, with Mount Washington the inline 6th OL. Maybe that's why they didn't try hard for Tyler Boyd, who is a big slot.

I like this idea of P.F. as big slot.

To continue the thought, I think that although they like the pick, people are selling Roman Wilson short.

Really what did DJ have that this kid lacks? And before talking experience don?t forget DJ was a VERY GOOD ROOKIE starter.

                Roman is:
                1. Faster
                2. GREAT hands- much better than DJ
                3. Similar route runner reputation in college.
                4. A smidgin bigger but noticeably stronger
                5. A very willing blocker

Start Roman wide, let P.F. be that big slot, Washington at TE.

I think we watch the kid in practice to determine if he is ready, make a move after if it is no, but I think there is a good chance we drafted a guy who would be a fine number 2.

Plus with all the talk of CULTURE CHANGE you cannot have exhibit one riding the bench while starting your diva.

In view of the fact that Mike Tomlin has matched Cowhers record I give him the designation:

That's not fair to DJ. He was also a very willing walker.

                  Oops, that said blocker. Nevermind.

BTW this post works much better if you imagine it in conversation and not written.

Correct, his early, costly fumble hurt this young team tremendously.
Help me find my post proving I am a Yinzer!

I will tip my hat to Tomlin if he has a winning record and the team makes the play-offs in the upcoming season.

The Steelers have essentially said to Pickens, you wanted to drive, here are the keys to the car. Let’s see what he does. His success is fully on him.

Yep, let's hope he's grown up over the offseason.

People don?t change over 6 months, especially when they haven?t over the previous 24 years. That is why I still strongly favor bringing in a veteran WR for that room

I am hopeful an experienced QB in Wilson helps because we now know Pickett was part of the problem along with Diontae
